- Shout out to the disabled community for always showing up, always being on the right side of history and justice, always willing to put their bodies on the line, all for the cause of making sure *everyone* has the basic dignity of health care.

- The political parties in this country are not democratically controlled or accountable to the people. They are accountable to the donors. Obviously, the resulting political system is not democracy or one in which public opinion influences policy.
- of all the terrible advice, this is the terriblest
- it’s wild how the democratic party is not going to change and will continue embracing the tired centrists after a decade of losing power on all levels
- The reason people constantly suggest that Dems "adopt moderate social positions" (which... end up not being "moderate" at all) is because they think that Dems won't lose votes by moving to the right. They are wrong in thinking this.
- I think this new era of leftists saying mean shit to right wingers is Good, actually.
- It's almost as if granting a criminal blanket immunity was a bad idea.
- I’m no Supreme Court expert, but it seems to me that if Roe can be overturned, the trump immunity case can as well. They said Roe was incorrectly decided and reversed it. I’d argue that no case in history was more incorrectly decided than the immunity case. Fix it Mr. Chief Justice!
- Citizens united is up there near the top
- John Roberts is one of the leading architects of Trump's lawlessness, right up there with Mitch McConnell. Both evil men who profoundly damaged their nation.
- Of all the ridiculous things people say with a straight face, the most ridiculous might be "you can't bribe him, he's rich." You think rich people don't like money, and don't do things for people who give them a lot of money? Are... Are you serious?
- “The purpose of education is so you can get a good job” No it’s not…. Nooooooo it’s not The purpose of education is so you won’t be a dumb ass
- the thing thing about the admonition to “not take the bait” is that while it makes sense in the context of an election — where you are trying to communicate a narrow set of ideas broadly — it does not make sense in the context of “how do we make this president as unpopular as possible”

- Hahaha I can’t unsee this now. It’s all smoke and mirrors. Actually he would look more normal walking around like this.
- The Constitution disagrees. The Emoluments Clause, part of Article I, Section 9, Clause 8, bans office holders from taking ANY gifts from foreign countries. There is no mention of quid pro quo. That is because the Founding Fathers knew that even the *appearance* of corruption promotes corruption.

- Trump will be out of office one day, one way or another, so I'd like to remind everyone who's breaking laws on the assumption that Trump will always be there to protect them and pardon them that the reckoning will come for them all eventually. Sort of a Final Destination film, but with prison time.
- They make it so easy
- I'm increasingly struggling with the fact that right wing members of Congress keep going to a concentration camp run by their favorite dictator, as if it's some kind of amusement park or sex club, and there's almost no backlash.

- To be clear - even the city of Nashville has no proof anyone ICE has arrested was a violent criminal or a gang member. (And due process is a thing) All anyone has is ICE’s word, backed up by @GovBillLee & Blackburn. Maybe the media could point that out instead of parroting their talking points?
- This -- though it is delivered with the characteristic haughty NYT condescension -- is just flat wrong. It's revealing, though. The enemy that has taken up residence in their heads is not fascism, not the threatened violence of the state, but "social media," ie, their readers talking back.
- I don't care that Ben Collins and Kat Abu are dating, I care that donor-created astroturf candidates think they can just fly into a district and act like they have some right to represent it when they don't even go there
- you want to know one reason people are losing trust in the media? it’s the total inability to call things what they are some guy on YouTube: “wow this is the most corrupt shit I’ve ever seen” the Times: “critics say it raises appearance of impropriety” who are people going to take seriously?
- Merrick Garland is proof that accountability can die of natural causes.

- It’s incredible that the President of the United States is openly flirting with suspending Habeas Corpus, disappearing people left and right, arresting judges and politicians, accepting ludicrous bribes from foreign countries, and people are still trying to normalize this shit.

- There is no plan. There is no 3D chess. The president has a toddler’s understanding of the economy and will continue to just do things (and then undo them, and then do them again).
- Don't you miss the first term when he wasn't surrounded by ONLY toady loyalists telling him what a genius he is 24/7? I mean yes, there were plenty of ass-kissy toads then, and it was incompetent and corrupt, but it's even worse now because it's a full house of ass-licking toads.
- The Afrikaner stunt is the kind of thing that has backfired so far -- it creates legal arguments for other refugees about animus. But holy hell he's not hiding the white sheets.
- It’s been a hell of a journey from “Bill Clinton needs to go to prison because he saw Loretta Lynch on the tarmac” to “it’s not a bribe if you tell everyone you took it“
- The only thing China had to do this entire time was wait until the deranged criminal eventually caved on his own trade war tariffs and he proved them right. Great businessman my ass.

- one of the many stories of the trump administration is the extent to which its policy agenda is a massive fuck you to rural communities
- Trump just ended a Biden-era program because its title contained the word "equity." But many red states *want* to participate in this program. They'd submitted plans to access its funds partly to expand internet to rural voters. Now they might not get it. New piece: newrepublic.com/article/1950...
- The NYT and SCOTUS both believe it isn’t “corruption” unless an official is caught accepting a giant bag of cash with literal dollar signs on it *and* saying in front of witnesses “in exchange for this illegal offer of money I will do ____”
- as someone who lives nextdoor to both supportive housing and public housing, i need people to understand that the best locations for both are going to be the central neighborhoods in a metropolitan area, where there is easy and reliable access to services and jobs.
