I run a newsletter/podcast called Volts about clean energy & politics. Subscribe & join the community at http://volts.wtf!
- Concrete plans to build a few SMRs in the UK! Unfortunately, the data suggests that these plants are not going to settle concerns about costs ...
- Tomorrow, I'm talking with Taylor Krause, a PhD hydrogen analyst at the RMI think tank ... who then went on the reality dating show Love Is Blind ... and met a man ... and married him! She's now a sustainability influencer. What a journey! What should I ask her?
- The newest thing in energy storage: sea balls.
- According to the NYT, people making donations to a charity run by the Clintons -- donations used to help poor people -- is corruption. Making a giant gift directly to the president is not.
- This -- though it is delivered with the characteristic haughty NYT condescension -- is just flat wrong. It's revealing, though. The enemy that has taken up residence in their heads is not fascism, not the threatened violence of the state, but "social media," ie, their readers talking back.
- "BP, Exxon & Shell, who have recently noted their exit from renewables, are also withdrawing from core oil & gas production investments too. Over 50% of their operating cashflow is now going to shareholders, not explorers or construction crews."
- Why is the Daddy Party allowed to rant & rave & do impulsive, stupid shit & never, ever be held to account, while the Mommy Party is endlessly scolded & lectured & second-guessed by everyone, even when it is earnestly trying to do the right thing? Gosh. What a puzzler.
- Grift is the defining feature of our historical era.
- This is utterly sociopathic but so is everything else so it will vanish from the news in a few hours.
- I'm procrastinating, Stancil is getting dragged over it, and the Rewatchables podcast guys finally covered it, so I guess it's time for what I hope is my last thread ever on Star Wars. Let's do this. 🧵
