- AOC, talking Medicaid cuts — after Rep. Weber chides her for addressing the camera: “.. There are 13.7 million Americans on the other side of that screen. .. They deserve. To see. What is happening. Here.” @aoc.bsky.social
- AOC is a quick wit. I love it.

- It makes me super happy to hear your story about getting your bike back. It’s a good start to the day. 😀
- Sen. John Kennedy: "I trust Qatar like I trust a rest stop bathroom ... "
- I’ll say this, Qatar certainly understands Trump’s weaknesses. That thing is a perfect modern day Trojan horse if there ever was one.

- Wow! I’m amazed it’s still in tact. Most stolen bikes are dismantled and sold off as parts. I’ve had too many bikes stolen over the years. It feels like losing a friend when it happens.
- Laughable
- Only a fool would not accept this bribe, I mean gift, on behalf of our nation.
- Keep it in a hanger and give it to him when he’s out of office. See how that idea goes over with him.
- It might actually be a nice enticement for him to actually LEAVE office.
- I am reminded what @kenwhite.bsky.social has said on his podcast: you could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich (or something like that…might have been grilled cheese?) This is pure thuggery and I hope she succeeds.
- She will. The door she let him out of actually lead through the jury chamber and out into the very same hallway where the agents were. And an agent actually rode down the elevator and arrested the guy once he was outside. If she was obstructing it was the world’s worst obstruction.
- Hasan Piker was detained by ICE and chose to talk to cops instead of shutting the fuck up. Do not be like Hasan Piker. Be way smarter. Never. Talk. To. Cops.

- “Bondi said Seltzer and her supporters were ‘politicizing’ the election, citing an online campaign from one of her supporters, George T. Conway III, a former Post columnist and lawyer and co-founder of the Lincoln Project, an anti-Trump super PAC.”

View full threadI don’t think that I’ve been “politicizing” the election, as Bondi claims 😩, let alone suggested, as he has asserted, that *he* is conspiring against the rule of law 😢. In fact, people have asked why I was so nice to him here 🤔. But you can judge for yourself! 😁 www.instagram.com/reel/DIcQFxt...
- Ah yes. It’s always important to be hated by the right people.
- the problem with accepting a $400 million dollar jet as a gift is that the IRS immediately takes 50% and half a plane really isn't safe to fly
- Problem there is the IRS now allows businesses to claim 100% of the value of an aircraft in the first year.

- If the impacts of the Trump tariffs end up being 50X more destructive than the previous ones, Americans aren’t going to be able to afford even basic necessities. We’ll be in a full-on second depression. Think: bread lines, “Hoovervilles”, and the like.
- This is a very astute observation of the situation with DOGE.
- It’s only a matter of time before one of these street assaults leads to a shoot out. And I’m not sure that’s not the administration’s intent
- What makes it clear they’re NOT actually targeting gangs is the fact that this hasn’t lead to a shoot out. ICE is afraid of the people they’re tasked with arresting. Innocents are much safer.

- You got it!
- I just really need everybody to understand that everything that’s happening in and to the global economy now (and all the businesses and people in it) is the entirely predictable result of the intentional decisions of one guy who doesn’t understand how the global economy works.
- [Not loaded yet]
- I think usually that’s stated as “Cash and equivalents” on the balance sheet. The precise breakdown I don’t believe is required for their public financial reporting.
- Your daily reminder that the U.S. Postal SERVICE is a service that is designed to benefit taxpayers and not a business that should be expected to turn a profit.
- So, let’s get this straight. The USPS costs American taxpayers a grand total of $10 a year per person.
- So, Kai, how bad is it right now? On a scale off “actually it’s fine” 1 to “global economic catastrophe for a generation” 10.
- Try this as a litmus test: Berkshire Hathaway is currently holding nearly 1/3 of is market cap in cash.
- I am pretty fervent about some injustices but I will never be as incandescently outraged and committed to change as some white people are about the fact that the n-word lands differently depending on who uses it and the context

- I’m going to keep repeating this until I’m blue in the face. These people don’t care about freedom of speech. They want freedom from criticism.
- “But … seriously? A pope who adhered to Christ’s teachings AND the Church’s longtime policies on immigration, EVEN WHEN MISTER PRESIDENT TRUMP DISAGREED? HOW VERY DARE THEY!”
- It’s almost as if the Catholic Church is trying to send the Trump administration a message about love and compassion for others or something. What’s the world coming to? /s

- I dislike analyses like these, which claim to estimate the "share" of climate change that is "caused" by the wealthiest 10%, 1%, or whatever. They are rarely what they seem to be -- especially in popular media. www.carbonbrief.org/two-thirds-o...

- I disagree. You can have the highest moral intentions but a lack of solutions to address the issue will limit an individual’s capacity to act.
- [Not loaded yet]
- My sense has always been that the climate issue is more of a supply side problem. People make better choices when sufficient, cost effective low carbon options are offered. In that, an individual’s agency is often limited to the available supply of alternatives.

- There are people who believe the moon landing was staged but this wasn’t.

- White lady: I regularly use the N word <goes on to say like 3 minutes of worthless shit> Piers: let's go back. You regularly use the N word? In what context? Around black people? Lmaooo Piers cooked here
- I can remember who I heard say this, but it’s definitely true. These people don’t want free speech, they want freedom from criticism of their loathsome opinions.
- [Not loaded yet]
- The irony here is that I can almost guarantee she has never uttered the N-word directly in the face of a black person, ever. She’s just cosplaying a role on TV because it gets her ON the TV. These people are always a twitching, twisted mass of insecurity and self deception.
- we only have five billion years to evolve into a species of spacefaring cyborg-trucks so we better get cracking
- The incineration of the biosphere will probably occur long before the sun completely incinerates the planet, but we still probably have at least another billion years to figure this one out. The better investments at this point would be in methods to defend earth from biosphere killing asteroids.
- just so we’re all clear: the reason they keep using dolls as their example is because they’re trying to frame caring about material stuff as feminine and thus inherently shameful
