- Trump's first-term corruption seemed huge, but it's already been dwarfed by the ongoing, unchecked festival of domestic and foreign corruption four months into in his second term. Blame the Supreme Court and the Republican Congress. My latest at @thebulwark.com www.thebulwark.com/p/trump-unqu...
- The Supreme Court opened the way to this and the rest of the massive corruption by dismissing 2 emoluments cases against Trump in 2021. One more reason of many that this court will live in infamy. www.brennancenter.org/our-work/ana...
- Reposted by Jill Lawrence"We now have a president ditching essential scientific data at a fast clip...and overseeing a frightening consolidation of all the data he needs to be the president who dispenses favors to his friends and retribution to his foes." Worthwhile look at Trump's posture on all aspects of data:
- Federal data is an invaluable national asset and economy driver. But for Trump & Co., it's "woke" and must disappear, or it's personal, private, and perfect for weaponization against people and groups they don't like. My latest at @thebulwark.com www.thebulwark.com/p/donald-tru...
- Reposted by Jill LawrenceRegarding the DOGEbros—"Who are they? What education & training do they have? What vetting...? What clearances...? Do they understand what govt privacy laws require? Do they have any reason to suspect fraud, waste, & abuse on a scale that justifies wholesale access to individual, confidential data?"

- Reposted by Jill LawrenceThe Obama administration viewed government information as “a valuable national asset” that in the hands of creative Americans would become even more valuable. Trump is fighting a war on federal government information itself. New from @jilldlawrence.bsky.social: www.thebulwark.com/p/donald-tru...

- Reposted by Jill LawrenceFacts are the enemy for Trump and so the administration is devoting as much time to silencing or coopting and distorting all sources of facts that might undermine their objectives. It's an information war, @jilldlawrence.bsky.social persuasively writes, and we are the victims.

- BBC interviewer calls Biden "slower, quieter and more hesitant" than he once was, but still "warm and charismatic" with his trademark "folksy charm." Pretty damn cogent, too. Especially if you've heard Trump lately. As Biden put it, "What President ever talks like that?" www.bbc.com/news/article...
- Trump wants to give Musk’s DOGE army access to individual personal data for millions of Americans, so they can decide if you’re dead or cheating or should be deported. Spying machine, surveillance state, panopticon—whatever you call it, welcome to our terrifying reality. New from me @thebulwark.com
