- I don't have a lot of utility for WStancil posts overall, but: This one is worthy.

- I'm just loving the presumed revised application of the well-known appliance as the dickwasher. And honestly I don't know why that's not listed on the owner's manual except for the damn 350 year old Puritans.

- Steelers as constituted are a bad team next year only relevant for 4x prime-time slots because too many folks are Steelers 4EVA. Neighborhood friends right there wid' ya. Add Rodgers? Doesn't change the calculus but could make it more funny....

- I love my (second team from childhood in MS in late 70s/early 80s watching a lot of Archie) Saints but... They are likely to really suck for 3-4 years until they either tank completely or find some other way to unfuck the salary cap.

- I backed this game and had a lot of fun in a playtest session with David. If you like Wondermark comics and didn't already back it, see also www.backerkit.com/c/projects/w...
- An old three-letter-agency part of Government sent us all to a MBTI workshop in the mid-90s when I was in my late 20s. At the time, I thought it brought out some interesting facets from some of the folks I was working with. For me, it actually gave me some insights into why folks thought... (1/2)
- ...I was an Extrovert (able to stand up and brief 200+ people, etc.) when in fact I absolutely lost energy in that environment. It was a covering mechanism, from when I was a Navy JO and expected to lead. Now I just use the whole INtfP thing as an excuse to go leave people and find solitude. (2/2)

- Ah crap. I should have ranked _Space Opera_ by @catvalente.bsky.social somewhere in my top 3, maybe above them all. I tried not to overthink and I underthought.

- Well, someone actually tried to do the math on Project Thor A/K/A "Footfall" by Niven and Pournelle, but I'm not sure where Mach 10 was actually calculated:

- Your microfiction protagonist lives in my neighborhood. I live right across from community pool/grassy area, which has a trash can - but if I leave my cans out too long on trash morning, some slob will deposit a poop bag in mine. I've got a dog too, but I bring the bags back to my house...

- Beginning to think that "teh Founderz" had unrealistic expectations about a functional Congress that would hold the Executive branch to task. I think the Permanent Apportionment Act is partly to blame, but I don't know that having ~5500 Congresscritters would actually make it more functional...

- Thanks - it appears OP for that photo only did the cabinets and would not have chosen the "poop de Oro" paint pattern. But I remainl unfulfilled in understanding WTF is going on with longtoilet - I have a Toto with a Washlet bidet seat that's ginormous, and it still doesn't look as big as the pic.
- The US spent a very long time in Afghanistan and made major utilization of locals (not just employment, but often as interpreters and similar roles) who would immediately become targets once the US military was no longer there to protect them. Giving them TPS status should have been viewed as (1/2)
- ...the absolute LEAST we could do. Revoking it now, and having never granted it to many folks left in AF, will mean that the NEXT time we try to have trust from folks out of a different culture, even for Dept. of State and not DoD, we will be scorned. Trump and company are burning uncashed "checks".

- Given that I'm local to Baltimore, have attended WorldCons in the past, and try to be aware of local happenings: I never heard that this was even happening, so the publicity side of things was non-existent. Very sad for authors who attended in good faith and will never receive an actual make-good.

- New Order of the Stick comic is up and one of Giant's better ones IMHO. Hell of a punch line. (For those not aware, it's a D&D-ish comic with all party members and NPCs as stick figures.) www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1...

- Sigh. I just realized that I never did get back to Boorstin in the megathread. Or Frank Luntz. Or televangelism. Or Paul Weyrich and how he solved the problem of "Jimmy Carter may destroy the religious/political alliance we've been building just by being so genuinely Christian".
