the new jersey angle to this:
here we see downballot GOP support falling massively for local elected republicans in blue territory as the national environment turns bluer
so you know what that means....
DEMOCRATS ARE FINALLY GONNA WIN NJ LD-21 AFTER A MILLION FUCKING YEARS LET'S FUCKING DO THIS
this is genuinely insane to me, because the margin for this in 2021 was R+30
so it was a 43 POINT SWING TO THE LEFT
downballot republican support just completely cratered here

this was repeatedly said about Rs after Obama won in 2012 and then Dems did well in Virginia in 2013
we all know what happened from there LMAO
Running mostly normie liberals with compelling biographies and personal charisma basically.
I really feel like more people need to constructively engage with this! You can think the moderation/centrism discourse is often braindead (as I do!) but the center left really needs a pretty robust convo about what winning, say, an Iowa or Kansas or Texas or Ohio senate seat would look like.

important to understand how quickly the conventional wisdom on all of this stuff can change; I remember Biden's campaign manager throughout summer 2020 asking for money so they can play for "reach states" like Texas and Georgia
ie Biden's campaign viewed those states ~equally
I actually don’t have a good explanation for it honestly.
A majority of likely voters support impeachment, including 20% of Republicans.
The Democratic Party polls a helluva lot worse than that.
It seems quite curious to me - why are Democrats so staunchly against impeachment? Is it because of how corrupt the Trump regime is, even Democrats are now getting kickbacks and participating in the ongoing stock manipulation and insider trading? Could it be that simple?

it's insane that this needs to be said LMAO

It’s because of the senate map

One thing you will *have* do is, in a maximally attention-grabbing way, distinguish yourself from your electorate’s perception of a “generic democrat.” McCain was extremely smart about picking one or two Big Issues where he waged holy war on his own party and something along those lines might work.
Mccain adopted the entire gop plan on every issue once he was afraid of losing his primary in 2010 and 2016
