- Democrats have to worry about appealing to much more conservative voters in order to have a legislative majority. Sucks but it’s true!
- 2020 the dems were full-on pro-trans and won. 2024 they moderated and lost.

- you could also argue that Trump, for all his faults, HAS moderated on issues - he's less aggressively pro-life, no attempts at a Muslim ban, he's expanded his base with nonwhite voters, no attempt to repeal the ACA, etc. I mean he's promising to lower Rx drug prices even!
