- Been there. It’s astoundingly difficult. Helps to remember that our job is to be sure they are looked after properly, which typically means someone else doing a lot of work that we just don’t have the skills to do. Blessings to you.
- I don’t want to read about a former President’s mental decline because a journalist got a book deal. I want to read a report about the current President’s mental decline by a journalist brave enough to speak out now.
- Maybe Biden had a mental decline, maybe not. He also had great dedicated staff & Cabinet members who were doing good things for the country. That’s all I need to know.
- Putin suggested holding direct negotiations in Turkey on May 15. President Zelenskyy with his team arrived in Turkey. Putin is absent. Instead, he sent a non-representative delegation with no decision-making mandate. Does Putin want to achieve peace and stop the war? The answer is obvious - no
- Putin knows what he needs to do to stop the war: pull his troops out & return Crimea to Ukraine.
- He's actually demented and if we're taking lessons from the Biden disaster journalists need to take the dampers off discussions about how senile this man is.
- I think we had plenty of immigrants coming in after the Civil War. 🤔
- Minka’s Evening Report: At work today, 3 reclined on the couch for 4 hours, crying off and on about how much her arm hurt. She finally let Mom look at it, took some Tylenol, and decided she was ok. Kids are weird. Later, frens!
- Wait a sec. They’re inviting actual drug dealer gang members in, but disappearing people with no criminal histories to concentration camps? Do I have that correct?
- Did Trump and Pam Bondi make a deal with the Sinaloa Cartel? It would seem so, and now 17 cartel family members have been allowed to enter the U.S. apnews.com/article/el-c...
- Mike Johnson: "Look, I've been a little busy on reconciliation, so I'm not following all the twists and turns of the Qatar jet. My understanding is it's not a personal gift to the president ... other nations give us gifts all the time ... it's not my lane."
- Yes, other countries send us gifts. There’s a legal process Congress has to go through to accept the gifts. This really isn’t difficult to understand.
- Rep. Julie Johnson to Noem: "Are you aware that ICE agent jackets are available on Etsy for $20? Anybody can throw a mask on and run around and terrorize people of color without any regard for the law because your agency does not have proper protocols to make sure your agents are clearly identified"

- ALL law enforcement should produce their IDs, be wearing actual recognizable uniforms, show their faces, have marked agency vehicles, and have signed judicial warrants. Otherwise, the public has to think they’re just cosplayers with no actual authority & we will take appropriate steps to stop them.
- I really feel like more people need to constructively engage with this! You can think the moderation/centrism discourse is often braindead (as I do!) but the center left really needs a pretty robust convo about what winning, say, an Iowa or Kansas or Texas or Ohio senate seat would look like.
- Yes. And in Texas, we have to deal with extreme gerrymandering, voter suppression, & the Texas GOP consistently cheats.

- This happens to me, too. No idea who these folks are, but I don’t really care. I block them in return. And I block people who are clearly trying to start fights or being rude.
- US opposes Zelensky's invitation to NATO summit in The Hague, scheduled for June 24, — ANSA NATO allies are wondering why. Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand have received invitations; US says it will only extend invitations to allies from Asia-Pacific
- Why does the US decide who to include? Or is Trump just throwing his weight around?
- If your MAGA relatives try to justify the Qatar plane gift by bringing up the Statue of Liberty, remind them Congress voted to approve that gift, and we’d be happy to have Congress vote on the plane, too!
- Our nation has received several gifts from foreign countries. They all follow the laws about belonging to ALL OF US and Congress has voted to approve them. This Hamas jet “gift” isn’t following the law.

- Still corruption, whether it’s hidden or out in the open.

- Please accept my condolences. Blessings to you.
- Snow queen and precious babby. Photo from my collection, no documented date/info.
- Seems likely this was taken during winter someplace cold. Looks around 1930’s to me, but it’s hard to tell.
- Minka’s Evening Report: Guess who’s back home? My adventure was interesting, but I’m glad to be back home, just Mom & me. She’s feeling better, and has new MUCH smaller bandages, which seems like a good sign. Later, frens!
- This is a key goal of Project 2025.
- Someone should check his hard drives.
- Who knew? 🙄

- Please accept my condolences. Nay she have eternal peace, and may you find comfort in your memories. Blessings to you.
- What the actual fuck????
- José Mujica, the charismatic former guerrilla fighter who later went on to lead Uruguay and became known as "the world's poorest president" for his austere lifestyle, has died at 89.
- May he have eternal rest.
- Folks think that when someone is chronically ill, support is provided based on severity of condition That if you get worse & can’t care for yourself help will magically appear It doesn’t. Unless you’re wealthy or have family, you’re on your own Many die or become more disabled due to lack of help
- Absolutely. I was fortunate to grow up in a family that had a severely disabled uncle who was much beloved. We learned that you look after each other. We’re now 3 generations into doing that.
- I had some new headshots taken, and my donkey would not get out of the way, so I ended up taking a couple with him. Gus❤️
- Gus knew we needed to see him today. 🥰

- That was my thought as well.
- Minka’s Evening Report: Mom’s surgery went well. I was unprepared for how she looks. The bandages take up most of her face! I’m taking good care of her, making sure she rests & drinks water. Later, frens!

- Glad your dog’s ok. Everyone should keep their pets leashed, especially the owners who insist their dog is “well behaved.”
- In a time of aggressive immigration enforcement, some international musicians are deciding that going through the complicated process of getting a U.S. artist visa may not be worth the financial and safety risks.
- They’re smart to stay away!

- 5th grade in 1966. Multiple choice test with a question about the sun. Answer choices included “a ball of burning gas” & “a star.” I chose star & was marked wrong. Still annoyed by this.
- Neat things I noticed today. 1. My laundry wasn’t dry this morning so I was searching for leggings for the gym. Grabbed some leggings I bought last year. Fabletics Powerhold (4x) that I ordered by mistake. Last year I could not get these leggings on at all. Today they slid on like butter! 1/
- Congratulations!

- Exactly. The manly men will continue to go to work. 🤪
- Minka’s Evening Report: I’m on an adventure! Mom & I are staying in a hotel for a few nights with Mom’s sister. She drove down to drive Mom to & from her surgery tomorrow. I’ve sniffed all around our room & some of the grounds; lots of interesting smells. Later, frens!
- My mother immigrated to the US with my father when she was 21. They were newlyweds. We lived in a 2 bedroom apartment and both my parents worked once I was in school. Mom had a few different jobs - she worked at the day care I went to, later she worked at a toy store. They were legal.🧵
- Thank you for sharing this lovely story about your sweet mom. Immigrants make our country better. Blessings to y’all.
- Never assume that you know a stranger or a friend's financial situation. You don't. So if you ask for donations & people don't give, you really need to keep it moving. There are 1000 reasons why folks don't give and those reasons aren't your business. Thank those who do give & move on.
- Thank you. I’d give to so many folks and organizations if I wasn’t about 3 months away from being homeless. Just have nothing to spare right now.
- A PLANE?!?! My dad turned down tickets to a BULLETS game when he was chief of staff of the senate foreign relations committee! And this guy accepts A PLANE?
- This is because Trump is a grifting scum bucket and your dad was a man of honor. 🤷🏻♀️
- Kinda tells us what we need to know, doesn’t it?
- 🇺🇸 “Rolling Stone reached out to all 53 GOP senators after the president said he didn't know whether he needs to honor the nation's founding document. None replied.” www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...
- Minka’s Evening Report: Met a new fren today. Her name is Miracle. She’s a 12 year old white Lab, very sweet. Her people were grilling in the pavilion and she brought me part of a tortilla. Mom didn’t let me eat it, but Miracle was sweet to do it. Later, frens!

- Excellent advice for all parts of life, I reckon.
- I am positive that the folks who follow me already know this, but if you see a person being kidnapped off the street, put your body in the way. Record it and get in the way.

- My students used to say that if a shooter came in, they’d give up when I gave them “that look you do” & tell them I’d be glad to call their parents to inform them of inappropriate behavior. 😉
- Today is the 111th birthday of Viola Ford Fletcher, the oldest living survivor of the 1921 Tulsa race massacre
- Happy birthday, Ms Fletcher!
- Look, I’m an old, moderately decrepit white woman. Anybody who thinks I won’t make a stink if I see this happening is seriously underestimating my stubbornness. 30 years of classroom teaching means I have certain skills for gaining cooperation.

- When I was still teaching, every year some kid would ask what to do for their mom for Mother’s Day. I always told them to clean their room & at least one other thing. They were always stunned that moms prefer that to getting a cheap teddy bear or something. Seriously, just clean something!

- We coulda had Beto.
- Here’s a preview of the coming clash with SCOTUS which has already confirmed noncitizens are entitled to due process. “Sudden deportation” violates the Constitution.
- “We really wanna send you to a foreign concentration camp, but if you sign up on this app we’ll fly you home instead.” Not a chance. Don’t fall for it, friends! It’s a trap!
- The reason why I cry listening to these old songs isn't because I want to return to the past. It's through music that I get to bear witness to all my past selves. I can see the girl and woman I used to be. She doesn't know I'm there. I know my future self is here, right now, watching these tears.
- This hit my heart in a beautiful way. Thank you for putting this feeling into such perfect sentences. Cry on, dear lady, cry on!

- Hope he recovers soon! No need to feel bad for him. He’s happy, pain free, relaxed, & napping on his dad; sounds like a pretty good day for a good boi!
