- I mean on the one hand this does feel like a proud and ancient tradition you can trace back to the Middle Ages on the other hand I would laugh until I cried if this was a scheme to get Dolan in there, and then they picked not just a different guy but a DIFFERENT AMERICAN to really twist the knife
- As Vatican mourned Pope Francis, US cons Catholics, led by Napa Inst, tried to influence next election by hosting events in Rome, offering $1B in donations for electing favorable pope Their efforts, incl past attempts like the 2018 “Red Hat Report” targeting progressive cardinals, may have backfired
- Honestly picking a different American as an *extra* fuck you does seem kind of a particularly Catholic subtle dig I have to say.
- The discourse about The Thunderbolts* vs. the latest Captain America movie is fascinating because yeah man people liked the movie about a group of losers who formed a found family, that's a tried and true formula.

- At least you can tell that he’s a bad person. There are so many whiny Redditors who can’t understand why people are so MEAN to him as if the show isn’t constantly demonstrating what’s wrong with him. (I think it’s fine to like him, he’s a complex character; he just shouldn’t be Captain America.)
- I don't know that he's a *bad person*. I think he definitely shouldn't be Captain America, but *bad person* is a higher bar.
