- Reposted by Eliza Bliss-MoreauI just really need everybody to understand that everything that’s happening in and to the global economy now (and all the businesses and people in it) is the entirely predictable result of the intentional decisions of one guy who doesn’t understand how the global economy works.
- Look forward to reading this book. As my family, friend, lab folks, and colleagues know - I have to talk to think and sometimes that is very annoying 😭
- Reposted by Eliza Bliss-MoreauSo let me get this straight: masks are bad and un-American if worn to fight a pandemic, but good if worn by people claiming to be government agents when they kidnap people off the street

- Spring in the NorCal Central Valley smells like jasmine, orange blossoms, roses, and rosemary and it is the best. 😍
- The NIH move to restrict animal research is a bad one and not just about health - it's about national security. More here: medium.com/@eblissmorea...
- This whole thread is gold!
- I know SO many people who haven't just survived but are currently thriving, post diagnosis that would have killed them when I was a kid. This tool is awesome because it pulls the concrete numbers from the NIH website in a clearly accessible form.

- Apparently the new NIH director presented this at the Council of Councils yesterday and whoaboy... dpcpsi.nih.gov/sites/defaul...
- Very glad to see Chancellor May from @ucdavis.bsky.social signed this. Hey, @bostoncollege.bsky.social - 🦅🦅 here wondering where Fr. Leahy's signature is? www.aacu.org/newsroom/a-c...

- Elephants, or eledents as we call them in our house, are totally amazing.
- I don’t think people can imagine how awful this is. Meds won’t be safe. Vaccinations won’t be safe. Medical devices won’t be safe. There are a handful of contexts in which FDA testing does not require animals bc it can use cells or “organs on chips”. But AI is not a solution.
- FDA plans to phase out animal testing requirement for drug testing and replace it with “AI-based computational models of toxicity” and organoid toxicity testing www.fda.gov/news-events/...

- Reposted by Eliza Bliss-MoreauMMR vaccine doesn’t just prevent measles, mumps, and rubella. It also prevents RFK Jr. from showing up at your child’s funeral to exploit your grief at your most vulnerable moment.
- Reposted by Eliza Bliss-MoreauA concrete ask for every department head: commit to checking SEVIS portal every day. Student visa revocation emails go to address they applied with - potentially consultants/brokers. Correct & current info is a specific, urgent need. If you don't have access, find out who does & make same ask.
- 👇 or, it's actually a good question but i've not considered it before and i'm trying to buy myself a touch of thinking time

- This embroidery in Evanston, IL, isn’t the quickest-reading sign of the #HandsOff protests, but it sure does capture the public mood.
