- You should fail so well, honey.
- RESULT: Omaha's Republican Mayor Jean Stothert just lost to her Democratic challenger John Ewing. Stothert, who was running for a fourth term, resorted to anti-trans ads and messaging around who uses bathrooms in the final stretch of the campaign. Ewing will be Omaha's first Black mayor.

- Your collapsing of difference between a candidate who opposes trans rights and one who doesn’t indicates the fundamental error in your approach. I don’t expect, nor did I ask for, a cohesive, exhaustive theory from you when it can’t even do that.

- A real person could not have written this (*soaks* the rich? It’s the poor getting soaked, and then only in potboiler parlance), so I’ll just say this is a perfect example of the failure inherent in a dogmatic approach.
- never had to, the neolibs just want to try and blame trans people to see if people still wouldnt realize billionaire capitalists are actually the problem
- I thought neolibs was a putdown for Dems. The anti-trans candidate here is the Republican. Are they neolibs now, too?
- It’s 2 am and we’re still marking up massive cuts to Medicaid. While their constituents are asleep, Republicans are trying to take away health care from 13.7 million people to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. They want you to tune out. Don’t ⬇️ x.com/i/broadcasts...

- You have no idea who’s corrupt and who isn’t, you’re just pasting people you don’t like with a libellous brush like a MAGAt. Dem judges getting indicted and Dem mayors are getting arrested. They’re the ones fighting fascism on the front lines while your faves speechify.
- Hey...those people that already have more money than they could spend in 10 lifetimes need a tax break.
- Judge Judy is one of those people.

- So you’re saying this is Dems’ fault, for not humiliating them enough? Dems do that everyday, not just Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, and it doesn’t move the GOP needle even an inch away from Trump.
- Politico is taking an awfully long time writing America’s obituary with this piecemeal approach.
- Seeing some of those videos of ICE guys in full soldier of fortune getups with rifles and balaclavas being filmed by 40 year old women in Yoga pants telling them to go fuck themselves and get the fuck out of their city really shows once again that libmoms are America’s most fearless defenders

- In recent weeks, there's been renewed conversation about my longstanding support for a neutrality pledge within the Democratic National Committee. Here’s a 🧵 on why the Democratic Party must stay neutral in primaries.

- The leaders that ARE rising to the moment, Dems and otherwise, are getting arrested, and the fecklessness and failure of other Americans to come to their rescue, particularly the “do something” crowd, is astonishing to the rest of the world. There’s blame enough to share.

- There are so many reasons I want to see it again, the first being the tracking shot in the first 10 minutes, that by the time I got to “that scene” I already knew I was buying another ticket and that right soon.
- I saw the ads for it a million times on YouTube and it looked interesting, but I'm REALLY not a horror movie person. Can someone tell me--is it gutsy-gory horror, or it is bloody-psychological horror? I can handle blood okay (I know how it's made) but not mutilated body parts.
- It’s the latter. I didn’t put my hands up to my eyes once.

- Liar Nutlick on UK Deal: “They opened their market for the first time in 30 years for 5 billion in exports, while paying us 6 billion a year in tariffs.” Fact check: The UK won’t pay a penny. US companies importing goods from the UK will pay the tariffs, and pass the cost on to consumers. #cdnpoli

View full threadUntil the democrats make inroads into rural America the country is vulnerable to whoever the GOP puts on their ticket. It is tough to win without rural America. Additionally, state legislation is important. The democrats have neglected rural America far too long.
- Yeah, you said this before. On the thread of a Democrat who is decidedly not neglecting rural America but living in it and doing the work. Blaming Dems for what the GOP has wrought is peak Trumpism, and I’m starting to think you know that.
- This is a bigger deal than most people will understand. Once the morning coffee gatherings around rural America are focused on the pain the GOP is causing them, we could see real change across America. The democrats should take action and step into this void.
- You’re on the thread of one of those Dems doing that work on the ground in a mystifyingly red state. Take it from her as to why that mission is so difficult and not just a matter of stepping into a “void.”

- Do they really have to cut Medicaid? They already cut the people who make sure the system works so they just have to wait until that breaks down, and then they can just blame the deep state, ie the federal government. And Democrats.

- I’m shocked at how many do not understand this. That the world gave Americans the grace to wait out his first term is one thing. But to think they’d wait out a second (or third? What say you, SCOTUS?) is insane. And that’s just in trade matters; in terms of security, it’s over.

- Sure, but temporary? He’s been GOP leader for 9 years, the country’s for 4 and counting. Former allies held out hope after the first term but what they see now is that the global path of betrayal he forged will be followed by smarter but equally malevolent Republicans when he’s gone.

- The rest of the world can no longer go along with America, period, not just this White House. Trump is not temporary, and both Macron and Carney have made a point of saying so.
