Farm radio is talking about tariffs and farm impacts.
There are fewer places to bury your head from the facts.
This is a bigger deal than most people will understand. Once the morning coffee gatherings around rural America are focused on the pain the GOP is causing them, we could see real change across America. The democrats should take action and step into this void.
May 7, 2025 00:14They did step into the void. Farmers once again chose racism and misogyny
They dipped their toe in… swished it around a little and went back to their standard mission. The brainwashing of rural America has been going on 30 years over the radio and 15 years over TV. Rural America isn’t getting the same information we in the cities get and that must change.
Who’s gonna provide it when the right wing owns every system of information dissemination…radio, cable, papers, social media. Get real. And why didn’t Black voters fall for it?
Agreed… But there is room for alternatives. The Internet opens up a channel, local events another, and what’s left of weekly papers another… the democrats have to win rural America (RA). They are the keys to the kingdom. That’s why the GOP invested so heavily in them. Electoral college serves RA.
You’re on the thread of one of those Dems doing that work on the ground in a mystifyingly red state. Take it from her as to why that mission is so difficult and not just a matter of stepping into a “void.”
Until the democrats make inroads into rural America the country is vulnerable to whoever the GOP puts on their ticket. It is tough to win without rural America. Additionally, state legislation is important. The democrats have neglected rural America far too long.
Yeah, you said this before. On the thread of a Democrat who is decidedly not neglecting rural America but living in it and doing the work. Blaming Dems for what the GOP has wrought is peak Trumpism, and I’m starting to think you know that.
I’m simply stating the facts. I grew up in rural America (RA) & know the people, political landscape, & the market. Today, the business’ who pay for the ads which support rural right wing radio are going bankrupt and the rural listeners are feeling tariff pain. The democrats should try to win RA.
