- I got early access to Doom: The Dark Ages and like a normal human being I used it to figure out why modern Doom games feel so fast even when they’re running at relatively low frame rates. Hint: Average frame rates matter much less than microstutter:

- I cannot adequately describe what it feels like to watch your students backslide into illiteracy and forego basic critical thinking skills in real time. If you place the essays I was grading in 2015 versus the ones I get in 2025 it isn’t even close. It’s devastating to watch.

- 14 years ago I pitched what would become Polygon to a startup called Sports Blogs Inc on the unfurnished third floor of a DC townhome. I held a laptop on my knees and went through a deck. Today that same company -- now called Vox Media -- sold Polygon to Valnet.
