- When I was an intern in the House, the ethics training gave examples of inappropriate gifts. They included a single drink, a meal, a toaster or microwave, loans, and a bunch of other stuff. They didn’t mention planes, but my takeaway was that anything more expensive than a beer was verboten.
- I got early access to Doom: The Dark Ages and like a normal human being I used it to figure out why modern Doom games feel so fast even when they’re running at relatively low frame rates. Hint: Average frame rates matter much less than microstutter:
