Stefflod nothing to see
An ordinary guy. Likes computing, dogs, and all animals (esp dogs, pelicans and wombats). Did I mention dogs?
- The US is already the wealthiest nation on earth. If it's not working for the majority of people, it's because the system is wrong. Stop looking for the platinum door. youtu.be/ZzOlIqsiLKA?...

- Who realised America was so weak and vulnerable.

- So.... tariffs aren't about trade balances and levelling the playing field? Quelle surprise.
- It's just a question of time before made in America movies will have to conform to the GOP admin ideology. It may already be happening with Gibson as a special Hollywood envoy. Don't they realise that the market for movies is primarily the rest of the world?

- Ouch
- Most people do not understand how much regulation it took to stop food poisoning from being a daily cause of death. They are about to learn the hard way that you can't feed yourself from those apartment deck planters year round.
- I suppose the advice will be people can do their own research on what is safe to eat

- Good one. Is it bedtime?

- See above. The funny thing is people can get into flame wars on a complete misreading. Based on their own mood, they react. Then the counterparty responds, and we're off. Still, consult your dictionary of naughty words and get back to me by all means.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Maybe get back to me when you sober up?

- You reveal yourself. It upsets me that I allowed you drag me towards your gutter. But, I really can do this all day every day. So happy to hurl insults directly if you like. It will be a waste of my time as you won't understand, but it'll be fun for a while.

- Jeez. See my previous post. Idiot.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Hey. Enough of that. I'm just looking to understand the position. You may be too immature to have such discussions. Maybe stay quiet until you can converse.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Yes, of course. If they are using the symbol in the way the 'red skins' (sorry) football team used that term and motif, then sure it ought to be struck down.

- I read a note saying tariffs force other countries to devalue their ccy. The usd then buys more and the effect for consumers is zero, but the US collects the tariffs so is better off. Does that sound right and maybe the craziness might have a logical basis? It's the first I've heard that argument
- [Not loaded yet]
- OK. Same point though.

- He cannot let Biden rest because he lost to him. The only thing that matters to trump us to be seen as the top. He will never give up unless Biden says the election was rigged and trump won.
- How can refusing to remove a monument be discrimination, if the monument is not celebrating something that engaged in discriminatory behaviour?

- EU would have great leverage if they ordered from within NATO. The US arms industry is worth a fortune. At the same time you re-arm without reliance on the US. I also think it would be impossible to force countries to make defence spend part of a trade deal, so they cannot be forced to buy US arms

- Please keep up the good work. Anyone seeing this, please email your representative with outrage at Israeli actions.
- . For those who thought I was digging at Gerry Connolly nope. I was calling out the system that kept AOC from leading Oversight. She had the vision; they had the seniority. Now, with Connolly stepping down due to health reasons, maybe it’s time for a change. A WOMAN. .
- The old time served leadership may be politically savvy (or not) and may be leaders (or not). But they are not warriors. That is what is needed now. Political Warfighters as Hegseth might say😏

- I think he's really just playing. Yes, he would like to acquire Canada, but he doesn't care. He's just having a laugh toying with people's reaction.
- It is fascinating that the only two socially acceptable ways to be Jewish right now are "loudly support the genocide and make it inseparable from Jewish identity" and "if your Jewish identity requires opposition to the genocide, hide your Jewish identity for the greater good of everyone else."
- Perhaps just separate religion from the politics? Be as Jewish as you like but condemn Israel's action?

- Some people are. I personally know of 3 people who feigned disability to get benefits. (for various reasons I can't report them). However, there will always be some and it's not to say the vast majority are not genuine.
- “The Chancellor sparked anger when she revealed that govt wants to enable young people from Europe and UK to work and travel overseas” FFS. What ‘Brexit freedom’ exactly is being betrayed here? The freedom to NOT be free to work and travel overseas? One of the stupidest front pages I’ve ever seen.
- It must really irk them that it's called freedom of movement and they can't steal the word as they have with so many others.

- Not the same. We do not know what AI learns from, nor how it may evolve its learning, nor how much is done to correct it (how much effort will it take to monitor and correct something expected to be far more knowledgeable than anyone?) AI trained by validated data, like medical journals, is ok
- If ICE agents are comfortable that what they do is legally and morally correct. If they have some semblance of pride working as civil servants, that they are doing good for the community at large. Why are they refusing to ID themselves and wearing balaclavas?

- It's not the trump admin. It's the GOP. Congress can stop him anytime
- [Not loaded yet]
- Exactly. The kind of people looking for extra benefits to entice them into the EU are exactly those who don't believe in the EU model. What a prize for the EU. How can they resist.

- Irrelevant until some of the GOP start to feel vulnerable and begin to vote against him to save their own skins

- I've just spent a couple of months with a friend from the UK. They paint such a dismal, death-spiralling picture of decline, crime, unrest, and disfunction. I can't imagine most people thinking the streets are paved with gold and the UK is such a great place to live. Then, there's the weather...
- @jeremycorbyn.bsky.social As someone who has tried to effect meaningful change against social injustice. How do you cope when faced with seemingly deliberate refusal to enact proven common sense ideas rather than give up selfish or bigoted positions, regardless of how clearly they have failed.

- A president who doesn't care about the Constitution. An attorney general with no regard for the Law, An FBI unconcerned with civil rights... What could go wrong?

- Trump has ordered the US government to move forward with plans to mine the ocean floor an area nearly every other country considers off-limits to industrial exploitation. His executive order sidesteps a decades-old international treaty ratified by every major coastal nation except the United States.
- Why was it not ratified? Because the US wanted the option to do what it wants. Trump just happens to be the first to go for it.
- BREAKING: In a shocking moment, Pete Hegseth just said he will examine the promotion of “fat” people to leadership positions in the military and seek to stop them. There's a very fat orange man who's Commander in Chief. Can we start with him?
- Being drunk is OK as long as you stay in shape

- Rich people leaving the US does not sound like a bad thing. It's not working out at the moment is it?
- Trump 1 persucuted the Vindman brothers for whistle blowing - well one for that, the other for being related. Trump is a criminal. is no surprise whistle blowing is seen as being a rat. This is known. The GOP and maga voters did this. Where is Congress - oh, yeah, it's in GOP control.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Cvil servants threatened with prosecution for talking to journalists about non-security topics. Clearly authoritarian. It must be challenged, but I think the maga core are OK with this. They have been conditioned to hate the free press and their fellow citizens with different political views.

- A sad comment on base ignorance and selfishness. People sit with engines running for their ac. Don't try to tell them to experience a tiny bit of discomfort. The vast majority are like that and cannot see past their daily comfort or lifestyle to climate, slave labor, environmental issues etc.
- Two days ago Peter Dutton clearly said he would keep the EV tax cut. Today he's said he’ll scrap it. This is just like the confusion over his Work from Home policy all over again, but worse.
- He says what he thinks people want to hear. Different people want different things, so he changes to cover all bases. Doesn't stick to much he actually believes. It worked for Trump and Boris. It's not confusion. It is seeding conversation so two people can both say he said 'this' and choose.

- Is there an audit of islamaphobic incidents, and would it include the routine anti-islamist media articles published daily by major media outlets, or the passing of anti-Palestinian legislation etc? There is no room for hate. Towards anyone. But let's put the same effort into stopping it all.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Really, laugh emojies just don't do it.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Seriously, it is not Trump. It is the GOP. He is a convenient standard bearer. They have enabled and executed the vision.
