- I think she is just a small time grifter who wants the Department to reimburse her (or insurance) and more than $3,000 would sound excessive ($3k is already a lot but just at the cusp). See also the alleged Rolex in the bag. Why wasn't it on her wrist?

- The affordable car was always bullshit. Elon lied about it after Reuters reported that plans were axed and suppliers were informed that no parts were being sourced. Since then, Tesla kept the $25k half-heartedly in the news, but there are no reports of supplier contracts or tooling.

- no it's not, a taco is a taco a hot dog can either be counted as a roll or as finger food. If it's a roll, then you can debate if rolls are their own category or if they are sandwiches.

- And 100% Elon Musk design. When is the world going to acknowledge that "Mr GeNiUs WoNdErBoY i KnOw MoRe AbOuT mAnUfAcTuRiNg ThAn AnYoNe CuRrEnTlY aLiVe On EaRtH" is responsible for the biggest flop in automotive industry?
- If you run charmless candidates who believe in nothing you will constantly find yourself substituting tactics for values and of course you'll have no room for error. If you have candidates who actually give a shit and act like it you'll be amazed the "errors" voters would be willing to ignore

- If we accept the argument that there was no election tampering and that voter behavior was weird and picked Trump over Harris but we do not understand what exactly happened, how do we know we are not going to run into the same fuckup in the next election (if we have it)?
- Drop off is afaik only POTUS and nothing else. There are states without senate races and they have drop off votes as well. Ok, happy to accept the argument that there are such ind/dem voters who would vote for Trump and Reps who vote for the Dem senator. But that means that we had the same
- dynamic and situation in all 6 or 7 swing states?
- [Not loaded yet]
- Thanks, haven't seen that. But that makes it even more weird, no? It shows that people started warming up for McCormick, so much so he won the race.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Yes, Roe v Wade but 2022, 2024 and every special election were Roe v Wade elections. 2024 was an abortion and women's rights election ("we won't go back!"). And yet ... Some explain that young men and Latino men turned out. But I am not sure exit polls support that in such numbers.
- [Not loaded yet]
- sorry, no dunking. this is a block
- [Not loaded yet]
- Agree 100%. But consider Harris' campaign energy and ground game. If we accept that there was a pool of disgruntled Dem voters (straight Dem ticket) who switched over to Trump without down ballot, then that number would have to be 100k+ in PA. Have difficulties believing that without proof
- [Not loaded yet]
- Ok, now we are getting somewhere. Why then not in all states? Also, wouldn’t this imply that voters that voted Dem POTUS and downballot switched over and voted Trump only and in PA that number was 100k+?
- I am sorry, I am done here. All I want is for someone to genuinely try to explain why he became such a Maverick star in 2024, disconnected from the GOP. Happy to accept someone laying out how GOP senate and house fucked up everything and Trump successfully differentiated himself, but no one is even
- trying to make such an argument. I am done. Enjoy your evening, thanks for the chat
- [Not loaded yet]
- for fuck's sake, I agreed with everything you said so we can examine the one remaining question and as soon as we are there, you make a 180 and claim that -I- claimed his COVID response affected 2020 what's the point??
- [Not loaded yet]
- My blithe acceptance of your argument
- [Not loaded yet]
- it is literally YOUR argument two responses up and I simply acknowledged it to move to actual comparison and question: Why was he such a lone shining superstar above the GOP in 2024 but not in 2016.
- The argument is that Trump is unique and has many voters who only care about him and not the GOP. At least that is the commonly accepted explanation why he got so many drop off votes in 2024. But if this is true, and let's accept it for sake of argument, then he should have similar status in
- previous elections. Also, let's accept the argument that his COVID response soured many of his "fans" and this affected his 2020 performance vs GOP. But why didn't he have a comparable, or even bigger delta, in 2016 when he had the newcomer and freshness status? He was in his prime.
- [Not loaded yet]
- I understand this argument when comparing Trump vs his opponents. I also believe that in 2020 a lot of people were disillusioned with him due to the COVID response. But if we accept the Trump is a superstar argument, then 2016 should have been as strong as 2024. But the delta is HUGE
- [Not loaded yet]
- I am not sure I agree with that. Inflation was allegedly one of the leading reasons for people to vote Trump. I understand your argument about Harris and Biden, but that has nothing to do with Trump's drop off % and # change compared to 2016 and 2020.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Because the question I am asking is: "What happened in 2024 that changed GOP/Trump voter behavior so strongly?" "Why didn't it happen in 2016 and 2020?" Ignore Clinton, Biden, etc. Just Trump and three elections. I keep asking this one question and people get angry with me.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Yes, or pirate attacks. That's not my point. What was different in 2024 among Trump/GOP voters that they behaved significantly different than in 2016 and 2020? The answer to that question is why the United States of America ended. Pretty important question IMHO.
- [Not loaded yet]
- I am not ignoring Romney. I am asking why, if he is such a special candidate that brings single candidate/issue voters out, didn't this happen in 2016 and 2020? Or were the GOP candidates SO good that the Trump-only voters somehow voted downballot?
- [Not loaded yet]
- yes, we agree on that but if we accept this phenomenon (and it surely exists), how come it was barely there in 2016 and 2020 and then it explodes in 2024? Leave Harris and her drop offs out of the picture. Let's focus just on Trump.
- [Not loaded yet]
- Well, that's the question. Can they do all tabulators or only those by a certain manufacturer or service contractor? The Starlink hypothesis is ridiculous, unless they have access to the encryption keys. Yes, I agree that there are many Trump only voters. But where were they in 2016 and 2020?
- [Not loaded yet]
- 2012 was Obama vs Romney, completely different dynamic. Let's stick to elections in which Trump was on the ballot.
- Ok, let's stick with one state, no distractions, deflections, moving goal posts, etc, please. 2024 Pennsylvania. Trump wins 3,543,308 vs Harris 3,423,042, McCormick wins 3,399,295 vs Casey 3,384,180. Trump 4.06% drop off votes, most on Election Day, vs Harris 1.14%. Compare to 2008-2020.
- That's a gigantic swing from 2016 and 2020. He went from 18,672 in 2016 (arguably at his peak) to -53,761 in 2020, and then despite anemic canvassing and rally attendance, it somehow exploded to 144,013? And why only in PA and not in neighboring Ohio, Maryland, New York, and New Jersey?
- [Not loaded yet]
- fuck off, pendejo
