- Some signals that you’re dealing with a science-adjacent grift -extraordinary claims that you want to be true (simple cure for cancer, election fraud, etc) -lots of charts and graphs, but incomprehensible analysis -excuses for lack of peer review -seeking funds to “complete” the work.
