- After a while, it gets repetitive saying "Fascist is as fascist does..." But if it quacks like a duck, it's probably a goddamn duck. Where are all the anti-big-brother folks now? Where's the outrage at proposals such as this? www.cnn.com/2025/05/09/p...
- Reposted by Sasha AbramskyI am outraged by the unjust arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka earlier this afternoon outside of Delaney Hall in Newark. I am calling for his immediate release by federal law enforcement.

Netanyahu’s extremist government now says it will occupy Gaza & put mercenaries in charge of distributing aid, instead of the UN and other aid groups. Despicable. No more US support for Netanyahu’s war machine.
- The more I read Trump's statement on tariffs on foreign movies, the more two thoughts strike me: 1) This is classic fascism, accusing foreigners of undermining nat'l security with globalist worldview; 2), more pertinently, the man is a raving fucking lunatic. Mad as a march hare. Utterly bonkers.
- Yes, Trump, you DO have to uphold the constitution; that's what living in a constitutional system of governance, and swearing an oath of office to uphold constitution means. And, NO, you don't make Americabetter, wiser place by putting 100% tariff on all foreign movies. Fascist is as fascist does.

- So... just to be clear on priorities: the day Trump admin announces it is cancelling a program that helps keep thousands of vets from having their homes foreclosed, it also announces it is spending tens of millions of dollars on military parade for Trump's birthday!?! So very North Korean of them...

- Administration is preparing to deport dozens more people to CECOT. They are flouting every court order they can at this point. Supreme Court: When will you intervene? Congress: When will you intervene? Governors: When will you intervene. The whole world is watching. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/18/u...
- Reposted by Sasha AbramskyThe US government’s position, again, is that anyone caught up in these human trafficking operations is suffering a final and irreversible loss of all the rights guaranteed by the Constitution and all the rights described as inalienable by the Declaration of Independence. bsky.app/profile/kyle...
- I don't know how many ways to say this: disappearing people without due process and sending them to an overseas concentration camp, ignoring judges orders, attacking those who work to bring the deportee home, releasing WH statements saying he's never coming back, this is FASCISM.
- Apparently Trump can't spell. When he wrote that Sen. Van Hollen was a "fool" for talking with Garcia inside CECOT, he surely meant to write "hero, defender of democracy, human rights advocate, emblem of decency in a barbarian age, nemesis of gangster president." www.theguardian.com/us-news/live...
- What's at stake in the Garcia case? Pretty much everything: democracy, the rule of law, respect for court rulings, human rights, dignity, humanity... My Nation article on this: www.thenation.com/article/poli...
- This is a real prison in El Salvador, not CECOT but similar to it. This is the country's prisons that Trump wants to send US citizens to. He should instantly be disqualified from holding public office for espousing such a barbaric vision. www.snopes.com/fact-check/p...
- I think someone missed high school reading assignment for Upton Sinclair's The Jungle, about what happens in food processing facilities when there's no govt oversight. Discontinuing FDA inspections is one of scariest and craziest of Trump's many bat-shit policies. www.cbsnews.com/news/fda-foo...
- Trump today said he has "nothing to do" with the Garcia deportation to CECOT. Yeah, right... We're now deep into constitutional crisis. Trump continuing his defiance of law, of court rulings, and of human decency. Democracies do not kidnap people and dump them into overseas concentration camps.

- Perhaps might be a good time to remind people that the "I was only obeying orders" excuse doesn't play well historically. For all the crimes and blatantly unconstitutional actions this administration is currently committing in broad daylight, the country will one day demand legal accountability.

- Three days into the Constitutional Crisis of Trump ignoring court orders to return Garcia, the attorney general says Garcia isn't coming back and administration continues to call deportees to CECOT "terrorists." This is thuggocracy.
- Two days into biggest constitutional crisis since Civil War. Fascist Trump admin. continues to make no effort to comply with Supreme Court ruling in Garcia case, and Garcia -- along with hundreds of others deported with no due process to CECOT -- remains imprisoned in El Salvador. Eyes wide open.

- Is there anybody in the world at this point who looks at what's going on today and thinks Trump's US is a fully functioning democracy? Seriously, guys, democracies don't banish the wire services from their leaders' open-to-the-press events. www.cnn.com/2025/04/15/m...
- Fascist is as fascist does. When this nightmare is over, let no-one say they were unaware of what was happening. It's unconscionable that Garcia was sent to CECOT. It's unconscionable the govt lawyer who admitted this was then fired for not "zealously" representing US. www.cnn.com/2025/04/15/p...
- Question 1) Trump's team is bulldozing guardrails on sharing of govt data, creating huge centralized databases to target immigrants/dissenters. Where are voices of supposedly anti-big govt people now? Question 2) Trump claims public safety mandate: but where's his outrage at arson vs PA gov's house?
- The most vital challenge facing US democracy right now is Garcia case. It's now been a full day since Trump brazenly declared a) that he wouldn't seek Garcia's return to the US; and b) that the Supreme Court agreed with him. Courts still haven't responded. Lawlessness now rules apparently.

- Let's be absolutely clear what is happening here. Another day has gone by without the Trump admin making any efforts to have Garcia returned to US, and making a mockery of court rulings ordering his return. This is a complete breakdown of the rule of law and of constitutional govt.

- Trump refuses to seek return of Garcia from CECOT in El Salvador, and says "the home-grown are next." He blatantly lies about Supreme Court ruling on this case, and asks El Salvador's President Bukhele to build 5 more super max prisons. This is entirely monstrous, it's fascism in broad daylight.
