- I really appreciate @olufemiotaiwo.bsky.social review of Agnes Callard’s “Open Socrates.” I haven’t read the book but the review captures what I find so annoying about so much of modern political discourse. Does anyone know of a book that accomplishes what Callard sets out to do, but better?

- I'm working from a hotel room in the Long Beach today because the Air Quality Index at my apartment is still around 400. State and Local groups are frantically working on getting resources organized for folks who have been displaced.
- I’m sitting here just crushed by this story. Today I spent the morning in eviction court with a friend. Then this remarkably reported story. I feel like the challenge of reclaiming our basic dignity from landlords and the state is too much to handle.

- This is one consequence of repeatedly running a losing campaign to repeal Costa Hawkins. Voters have NOT rejected rent control. Rent control is extremely popular and effective at stabilizing communities and keeping rent affordable. Now we fight this false narrative. Again.
