He went with my husband to his office for the morning while I handled our daughter. When he came back at lunch, he was not interested in eating, saying his throat hurt too much. 1/n

- I just got the official email from the NSF about the drastic cuts and I think the correct translation is "if you are a young researcher who still wants to do science strongly consider leaving the United States if you can." which, really, is not an ideal message to be sending.

- I keep getting asked if Patch is going to return this summer and if his continued absence is worrisome. I went back and checked and the first picture I have of him last year wasn't until June 25th. So we might still have a long wait. I put pool toys out for him. I hope that helps.
