- The fact that it’s actually a Faraday Future car makes this like 1000x more sad
- One last China dispatch from me: I wrote about how Chinese automakers went from making knock-down kits for VW and GM to teaching them how to make modern EVs that Chinese buyers actually want. It's quite the reversal. The student has become the master: insideevs.com/news/759103/...
- You should always read @gaytonausa.bsky.social when it comes to China's EV race, because he's always right
- When I went to China, I had a moonshot goal: see BYD's five-minute "Megawatt" EV charging for myself. This took some doing. But @insideevs.com is the first Western outlet to see and experience this, and it is a game-changer for charging: www.youtube.com/watch?v=usUx...
- After visiting China, all I can think is: why CAN'T I buy a car when I go to the mall? insideevs.com/news/758763/...
- This fell very much into "I'd buy it if it were sold here" territory for @gaytonausa.bsky.social and me
- In which Mazda reiterates that its real "passion" is for an engine that hasn't been sold anywhere since 2012 because it can't meet emissions regs, and also it's kind of a nightmare to actually own: insideevs.com/news/758462/...

- This week's podcast is a fun one because it's just me yelling at @tlevin.bsky.social about China's super-advanced EV game for about 45 minutes. Fun for the whole family insideevs.com/features/758...

- "They have nothing to show, and it would've been very difficult for them to stand out in any significant way. Tesla's decline in China is a product (or lack thereof) issue." insideevs.com/news/757912/...
- Stellar episode of the Plugged-In Pod with @tlevin.bsky.social plus @cablenews.bsky.social filling in while I’m in China. On tap: the Slate truck, Chinese hyper-fast charging and turmoil at Tesla! Get it while it’s hot: insideevs.com/features/757...
- Some thoughts after having driven some advanced EVs in China, at least two of which are headed to Europe soon: Lynk & Co.'s Z20 is like a nicer, more interesting Volvo EX30. Single-motor but still quite quick. 66 kWh. Starts at €35,495 in Europe. I'd buy one if it were sold in America, honestly.
- Even if Elon is cutting back his “time allocation” at DOGE, he has enough problems right now that he'll probably miss the simpler era of Production Hell. I'm back in @theatlantic.com to cover the unclear path ahead for Tesla and its CEO: www.theatlantic.com/technology/a...
- I get messages about China's EV market all the time. But if it were even remotely true, then why are Chinese EVs running around GM's tech center? Why did Ford's CEO drive a Xiaomi SU7 for months? Why is VW's CEO treating this situation like a five-alarm fire?

- “‘Too Late’ Jerome Powell of the Fed, who is always TOO LATE” is honestly a hysterical insult just for how lazy it is

- Battery swapping! Long-range driving! Advanced autonomy! How did China's auto sector get so far ahead? This new @insideevs.com mini-documentary, starring @gaytonausa.bsky.social, answers those questions and more. Worth a watch, in my biased opinion: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zox...
