Owain Sutton
Green Party councillor for Hale, on Trafford Council. My own views. He/him.
- I posted this yesterday evening, and this morning I realised that I sound exactly like the kind of person who comments under YouTube videos of Come On Eileen or Kung Fu Fighting saying “amazing days, the best, everything was great, shame everything has gone to total shit”, so apologies for that
- I bet you wish binmen were still real binmen.

- Painful memories of spotting that a first-year undergrad had copied an entire paragraph (by hand) from a specialist dictionary entry, written by the professor teaching the course. Some years later, "Wikipedia is not a source" had to become normal guidance.

- This is all set for Starmer to get onto the "Leave the European Court of Human Rights" bandwagon. One heck of a career suicide from a human rights lawyer.

- I'm always convinced that puffins lied a little bit on their CV, about knowing how to be a bird. Surprised to get the job, they now desperately fake it, for the minimum required months each year.

- Same day I passed my test, I went out in my parents' car to visit a friend. On the way home, in the dark and on a very narrow single-track road, I met an escaped horse cantering towards me. The emergency-stop from the test was put to good use only hours later!!
- An isthmus of Doom.
- Mao at least invited all media, and picked a decent current.
- That's Starmer, not Powell. Seriously.
- WOOP WOOOOOOP!!!!!
- Transphobic Labour what every immigrant to prove they can speak English. Cambridge proficiency tests require understanding of the singular 'they'.
- Give your average British born citizen a C2 Cambridge Proficiency Test and see what they score. I guarantee you that quite a few would flunk it. And that's not their fault, nor does it matter.... because language alone does not define your right to be here.
- I've just tried one of the online mocks. Question 2, and I've already encountered punctuation which would be marked incorrect in KS2 SATs!! Who knew that English isn't consistent?!
- A classic "trick you out if you use colloquial English" question. Other than lacking two words to obey orders, is there anything wrong with my answer?

- "Look into my eyes. Immigration has been stopped and social care has been solved. Immigration has been stopped and social care has been solved. You are capable of showering yourself. You are capable of showering yourself...."
- How can anyone look at this and be like "yeah Capitalism is the best way to get efficiency and quality results". They all do this. They play dirty to get to the top, then sit at the top and provide the worst possible service. That's what "free markets" are designed to do
- Just yesterday, realised we need to talk to kids at school about when they're doing research online. Need to explain that the first chunk of 'relevant' text on a Google search result is "Gemini AI", and has the potential to be complete fiction. In other words, Google itself isn't a reliable source.

- I'd consider calling 999 to report an abandoned vehicle in a hazardous position.

- "The other parties believe they can create infinite growth from finite resources. Which is the bigger piece of nonsense?"
- The craziest shit I've ever seen was some "report" in the UK or Australia where people's unused bedrooms were counted as vacant housing, to say they didn't need to build housing. Hey mom good news I found you a roommate.
- My grandmother had four bedrooms. One with two huge double beds, one with a regular double, and two singles. Guess what? She could host visiting offspring, with their families of up to four grandkids!
- She also had a small orchard and huge potato patch, both of which she made maximum use of. A large chest freezer was essential for all the stewed apple ready to become sauces and desserts. One for the 'people can just grow their own food' line!
- I suspect that if they persist in using it against us, it'll start to have a counterproductive effect of "is that the best they have to attack them with?" (Fairly sure I know what you're referring to, anyway!)
- Also, the ableism. People unable to speak due to disabilities, or whose primary language is BSL or another sign language, are disregarded entirely.

- Interesting to see the use of Parliamentary Green for non-political constituency communications. Labour have recently started using that by default, and it's caused ripples because of the choice of colour, but it's demonstrably not new as an option.

- And BSL!!!

- IP address at the very top, 192.168.2.10 is also a VBox default, I think.
- 8GB hard drive? The default in VirtualBox, I think?

- He's potentially committed a criminal offence, too. By signing the statutary declaration of being eligible and not disqualified for the position.
- 20 years ago, this language was only to be found in the BNP manifesto. That's how far Labour have fallen.
- Incredibly depressing day. I've spent my entire life being told by British governments how dreadful immigration is. New Labour did it. The Coalition. The Brexiters. Now Starmer. All of them accusing the ones who came before them of failing to clamp down. The same old vacant mean-spirited bollocks.
- The "bigoted woman" incident is where Labour's brainworms seem to have set in.
- Eugenics. That's what it's been, all along.
- As usual, it's Labour wondering if a tinker to the system will get them over the line in the next election. No discussion of compulsory voting with ranked choice. Nothing about voter ID, which Labour is committed to keep. It's Labour wanting power, without earning it. Forever.

- OK, Boeing employees, your time to step up. Make the 'upgrade' conversion to Air Force One as awkward and slow as possible. You've got plenty of plausible deniability stacked up!

- Kings Cross fire, too, potentially could have been prevented (or the human impact mitigated) if everything Bradford told us about flashover had been heeded.
- Or even about what Bradford told us about build-up of litter under wooden structures 😱
- Quentin Letts is younger than Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Harry Enfield.
- "when no care workers SHOULD come in from abroad" Never mind "need to come in", this also rules out "can come in" or "may come in". BNP-level 'British jobs for British workers' stuff.

- Big question: Where and how is ICE recruting? ICE agents don't appear from thin air. Somehow, ICE is recruiting. What is it they are doing, and how is it ensuring that Nazis are the default?
- Anyone else in SE London suffering next level pollen assault or is it just me?
- I've been pre-empting with cetrinizine each morning, but it's still noticeable. The lack of a wet April will mean some plants flowering late, maybe? As well as everything due now anyway.

- This is Great Replacement stuff, plain and simple.
- Have also heard this re selections. Also ran Reform’s branch manual past an ex Lab official a few weeks ago because my immediate instinct had been wow, this is so centralised. He said this puts Labour in the shade in terms of the control from the top. Fascinated to see how it works with 800 cllrs
