- Tbh my first thought on this is it 100% makes sense we’re under a fascist system now bc ppl like this will never have any interest in learning about, understanding and/or caring about their rights
- Honestly, this piece is as bleak as others have said it is, but I didn’t expect it to make me feel so invisible and out of step with the direction of the journalism industry. Nothing here reflects my approach to reporting or investigative/data reporting www.cjr.org/feature-2/ho...

- I wish ppl talked about this more. Our site has a factchecking process & it takes me maybe 2 to 3x longer per story than it used to. I also have found crazy wrong errors in publications (ex: completely misunderstanding text in legislation) that have made me extra paranoid abt not verifying things

- does maha really mean "make America healthy again"? I'm trying to absorb that ppl of every political leaning are signing onto using yet another acronym that stands for words that mean the opposite of what they portend to represent, rendering all written and spoken language meaningless lol

- In Grants Pass, Oregon, some city councilors and vocal opponents to spending tax dollars on homelessness services talk a lot about how unsheltered people should get sober before they can get help. They often say homelessness is a "lifestyle."
