Good morning friends..

BREAKING: Dems have FLIPPED the Omaha mayoral race. John Ewing Jr has beaten the GOP incumbent!!
🧵Let the gravity of this sink in.
The Qatari royal family bankrolls Hamas.
This is Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, relative of the man who funded the mastermind of the Sept 11 attacks & helped him evade capture for years.
They now just bought their way into Trump’s inner circle.
Detta är kanske en unpopular opinion men

Funkade 😁😁
Inget har någonsin varit mer sant.
Collective punishment is a war crime under international law. It is defined as punishing an entire group for the actions of individuals within that group, and is prohibited in both international and non-international armed conflicts.
they impeached him for less than this the last time! why is the only metric whether or not you have the votes to win? why can’t it be about forcing every Republican to chain themselves to Trump out loud on the public record while their own constituents are so mad at them they banned town halls?
Article 2, Section 4 of the US Constitution says “The President…shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.”
“SHALL” not “may.”
That means it’s not a choice.
It’s a DUTY.

"What a dumbs***": Democrats privately rage over "utterly selfish" impeachment vote
One senior House Democrat said of Rep. Shri Thanedar's efforts: "People are pissed."
I would file new articles every time he did something impeachable just to remind the public “hey FYI Trump did X things this week alone that were explicitly banned by the Founding Fathers when they were deciding what a president was” so we stop normalizing the shattering of precedent
but 🤷♀️
Trump is the authoritarian personality in its final, ultimate form. In that sense, he is helpful, because tendencies that are disguised or muted in others are on full display with him. He shows what you get what you go down that path.
Trump's anti-market economic worldview on display. He believes that spending money is a sign of weakness. This is the same logic as his claim that last week that the precipitous decline in shipping volumes at the country's ports is "a good thing, not a bad thing," because "we lose less money."/1
At the root of it all is the zero-sum worldview, the idea that every human interaction has a winner & a loser, a dominator & a dominated. Glickman is very perceptive in noting that ordinary, everyday market transactions -- rule-bound, among equals -- do not satisfy that atavistic urge.

SCOTUS is politics all the way down
When history looks back, one problem the Roberts Court will have is the inability of legal scholars to put forward any plausible & consistent legal ideology for its decisions. The only explanatory narratives are stuff like "Republicans always win" and "crimes by politicians are good."

… Trump is accepting a 747-8 “flying palace” jumbo jet from Qatar as a gift.
The corruption is so obscene and brazen.
abcnews.go.com/Politics/tru...Murphy: "There's no guarantee that we are gonna have a free and fair election in 2026. He's trying to rig our democracy, to destroy dissent, to cripple the opposition, so that even if his approval ratings are in the 30s next year, there isn't the ability for his opposition to muster a real campaign"

The Constitution disagrees. The Emoluments Clause, part of Article I, Section 9, Clause 8, bans office holders from taking ANY gifts from foreign countries. There is no mention of quid pro quo. That is because the Founding Fathers knew that even the *appearance* of corruption promotes corruption.
