/5 There’s a certain amount of we-are-the-paper-of-record-so-we-define-terms going on here that, given the NYT’s utter failure to met the historical moment, I find insufferable.
May 12, 2025 22:30What's worse than journalism beholden to a profit motive? Journalists beholden to an owner with an external profit motive who doesn't actually care if the outlet loses money as long as it serves their broader interests. We can't keep pretending that's a tenable arrangement.
