- Slick politicians have gotten really good at spotting which questions they absolutely can not answer on camera (when they don't have a defensible stance whatsoever). But this can't possibly work either, right? Like no one sees this and thinks, "That there's an honest person, glad i'm on her side!"
- Every day i don't order pizza charges up my next pizza enjoyment meter
- Hard to describe what it's like watching Republicans try to strip health care from MILLIONS of Americans, for no other reason than to let their donors pay less taxes. I know they're just puppets for money, but they must KNOW they're killing thousands of people today. youtube.com/watch?v=xj9I...
- Remember when you weren't sure if Darth Uncle Ben meant IP infringement?
- Watched S1 of Common Side Effects. Lots of compelling, quirky characters who can hold a conversation. Way more plot than you'd expect, which does get a bit hectic sometimes. Weird animation style that really shines in key moments. Interesting subject matter too. youtube.com/watch?v=uHN9...
- Reposted by MajPam Bondi lobbied for Qatar & a private prison company, got paid $115K/month, then failed to disclose it during her AG confirmation. Now she’s gutted foreign lobbying enforcement under FARA and signed off on $400m planes. The corruption isn’t even subtle anymore.
- Impossible to overstate how much traditional media is failing democracy in the age of corruption. Not in a "How can these specific cowards be so stupid?" way. Rather: How did the journalism profession ever fool itself into thinking this desperate, fragile system could withstand any serious risk?
- Digital & streaming music might be more convenient, but this still looks like the future. Just a different vibe.
- Sometimes i don't realize i've tapped on a random person's profile for a solid 20 seconds of autopilot scrolling.
- Kinda wild watching the case for this play out so soon in the Celtics vs Knicks series. What would Boston's low variance lineup look like? #nbasky

- Why do chatbots get used for everything despite being worse than useless for nearly everything? Imagine a rocket launcher company showing nothing but rocket jumps in their marketing materials. Tech never exists in a vacuum. Good or bad always comes down to who benefits and how it's regulated.
- I know there's broader cultural reasons for this trend: • gambling/crypto/meme stonks turning so many people into line watchers • modern media/youtube/twitch cadence amplifying cults of personality • games-as-a-service shutdown fears But the speculation itself kills promising games so much faster!
- Reposted by MajTwo former Wells Fargo executives were fined $8.5M by the Biden administration for covering up the bank's infamous fake account scandal. Trump just slashed those fines to a paltry $150,000 after Wells Fargo gave $1M to his inauguration. See how this works?
- What was the last new band that you thought was a pretty big deal?
- If these tech bro group chats were an open secret, how much alt-right discourse was really just a public pick-me audition for invites? Also at this point, can the chat lords even tell the authentic stormtroopers apart from the ones copy/pasting content directly from some chatbot?
- Pretty funny how Guile ends up going home and becoming a family man. Went around telling everyone hoping it would catch on so someone would say it back to him? That's a little something called self-help.
- My own opinion, for what it's worth: Unless you're a researcher, it's better to sit out this GenAI trend until it becomes clearer whether it's a net positive. Currently and for the foreseeable future, the negative impacts far outweigh the positives. And it'll be easy enough to pick up at any point.
- After a decade of tech bros lying about everything possible to pump stocks, whenever something futuristic happens i just look for the scam. Kinda sad all around.
