I really feel like more people need to constructively engage with this! You can think the moderation/centrism discourse is often braindead (as I do!) but the center left really needs a pretty robust convo about what winning, say, an Iowa or Kansas or Texas or Ohio senate seat would look like.
It’s because of the senate map
The big problem is Dems get dragged into defending against strawman arguments like "So you think it's OK for men to stalk women in bathrooms?" when they should have prepared answers like "So you think it's OK to look over stall doors to check people's private parts?"
The answers to "controversial" issues can be straightforward:
- trans in bathrooms? Don't peek and it's not a problem.
- trans in sports? Pre-puberty and intramural sports, it doesn't matter. Competitive sports, let the governing body decide based on the science./1
May 13, 2025 23:33The answers are: Trans in bathrooms? That’s a distraction from the convicted, rapist president who wants to distract from all the pedo GOP leaders getting arrested.
Trans in sports? That’s a distraction from the convicted, rapist president who’s gutting women’s sports and rights.
Just attack GOP.
Strong disagree here. That's a passive non-defense of the trans community. Harris tried to play that game and she lost support due to that. Simple, inclusive answers keep the base in the tent.
You can't simply say your opponent is bad and then hope people will infer that you support their issues. You have to actually support their issues.
