- Question: those of you who follow me here, what made you choose to follow me? Was it because you knew me as an author, or from some other social media, or because you saw a post from me here you liked, or some other reason? There's no wrong answer, I'm just curious how people find me here.
- Like your books; posts rock the same vibe.
- The second paper from my PhD research went live today! Want to know more about modelling mesoscale meteorology on Mars to see what it can tell us about the formation of fluvial features? Here’s the place: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
- I wore my @heardislandgov.bsky.social flippers-up t-shirt to see I would be allowed in to the Amsterdam branch meeting of Artis penguins. The committee went into a huddle while they debated yes or no. 🐧😀
- I really enjoyed this book. So interesting. 👍😀
- Yesterday I visited the fantastic exhibition ‘Secrets of the Thames: Mudlarking London’s Lost Treasures’ at London Museum Docklands. So many fascinating objects found by #mudlarks give a glimpse into London’s rich past. Love this wooden 3-pint tankard from the 1500-1600s! Cheers!🍺 #Archaeology
- I’m glad it is as good as reported as I have booked to go when I am in London next week. Can’t wait. 🤩

- Hurrah — I am in the UK and in London then. 🥳🎉
- Wow! 🤩
- Discworld QOTD, from Jingo “It is always useful to face an enemy who is prepared to die for his country," he read. "This means that both you and he have exactly the same aim in mind.”
- I love all of the Discworld books but Jingo is my absolute favourite. An absolutely brilliant satire of so many things, all in one book.
- @gov.je We have lots of roof space for solar panels and the greatest amount of sun in the British Isles. It should be easy for Jersey to be country number 8, shouldn’t it.😀
- No coverage from #bbcnews (aka Fox News UK) but if they did report on the marches they would round down the figures to ‘a few people here and there’. 🙄🤬

- I’m just reading this now — imaginative and gripping 🫢
- Some local ladies enjoying the sunshine and beautiful Jersey countryside. 😎

- I’m still boycotting Amazon, though. 😁

- I did too a little while ago — felt great once it was done. 🥳 Well done. 👍

- My partner has an ICE car which is in the garage for the third time in 18 months. So he is driving my all-electric car and LOVES it. I think we have a convert. I’ve had my car for 3 years and no problems.

- It is appalling that they have say things like that — untrue, unscientific.

- OMG how can NOAA say that 😳

- Just downloaded by copy to my Kobo. Can’t wait to start reading. 😀
- Super news! 🥳
- I’ve sent similar messages and, having a legal background, I have found it useful to ask for the message to also be sent to their legal team, noting that their policy is ‘knowingly and intentionally putting disabled customers at risk of harm or death’ and mentioning corporate manslaughter.
- Happy Earth Day! 💚
- And to you, the brave resistance 💚💚💚
- Lovely to see @cloudappsoc.bsky.social here on Bluesky. Just the people to help identify the 😳 cloud I saw. It looks like an ormer to me. 😀
- Just when I thought the BBC could plunge no lower! Just appalling.

- Now I won’t know if the news story showing men in fancy dresses is the Conclave or Eurovision 😆
- #bbcnews covered this overnight UK time but once again greatly underplayed the numbers. They have grown a couple of vertebrae but not yet a full spine to let them stop appeasing the White House. 😡 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

- They covered it last night, too, so by this morning it was well down the website. 🥺 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
- Ok, #bbcnews Time for you to start covering this. Can we have a live feed, please? @justingerdes.bsky.social @kaylaepstein.bsky.social
- I love it when Amazon suggests my own book to me, I mean, thanks and all, but I've already read it, several times even

- You can still buy new books on not-Amazon and email them to your kindle. I managed to download all my kindle books before Amazon shut down that option, then put them on a Kobo e-reader. But my housemate still has a kindle and I can send him epubs. 😊

- Go Kobo. The books are there, too. And you can read them on pretty much any e-reader.

- Kobo has it, too, and it can be read in pretty much any e-reader. I made the change away from Amazon and it’s gone smoothly. 👍😀

- It’s the real astronauts I feel sorry for — the current astronauts who have been side-lined or sacked while also having to watch the stories of female and non-white astronauts be deleted from the NASA websites. This launch was such an insult to them. Well done to @theguardian.com.
- Watched this amazing looking cloud approach and then pass by our house. Stunning formation.

- I still have my @tanyaofmars.bsky.social ‘mission patch’ t-shirt to commemorate that launch — one of my favourites and who could not love the super-cute sloth in a spacesuit. 🥰
- We had 9 sunny days in a row here (!) so I imaged the sun every day. This are my first attempts to overlay the images to show the sunspots moving as the sun rotates. I think it is OK as a first attempt but if anyone can point me in the direction of some post-processing tips I would be grateful. 🙏
- Feeling v conflicted about this launch🧪 Inner scientist: space shouldn't be the playground of the rich & famous ☹️ Inner kid: 🥳 Inner geek: An 11min journey 100km up does not make you an astronaut 😠 Inner feminist: powerful successful women showing the bravery and riches usually associated with men 🙆♀️
- Anyone want to watch the live-stream of the best-dressed team of "astronauts" 11min ride into "space" today? Launching 14:30 UK (09:30 EST) from Texas, we can only hope that Katy Perry will be singing "you're going to hear me roar" as the rockets ignite 👀 🧪🛰️🔭 📽️🍿: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCXK...

- Did they do the super-hero slo-mo walk across the tarmac? Please set ‘yes’ 😀
- 🚨Some major errors & misleading claims from experienced presenter Nick Robinson on BBC Radio 4 Today, when discussing British Steel with Treasury Minister James Murray I hope these are corrected on tomorrow's programme, and Robinson sticks to the facts in future. Here's what he got wrong... 🧵
- The standard of journalism at the BBC has fallen so far. It’s just embarrassing to have the BBC viewed around much of the world as the gold standard of British reporting.
- My latest original oil from @jayispainting.earthskyart.ca arrived and is up in my home office, in a key position where I will see it every time I look up from my desk. 🤩 I love my Piece of Neptune. 🥰
- It’s the ‘elevated levels’ that gets me, suggesting there are acceptable levels of fecal matter in US butter. 😳 America, putting the butt into butter!

- No mention at all of the lack of a magnetosphere which is why Mars lost its original atmosphere to space and why any new atmosphere would get lost to space as well. 🙄
- Natalie Sherman at #bbcnews posting that the stock market fall is worse for the wealthy in the US as “those in the bottom half of the wealth distribution typically had only about $12,600 tied up in the markets.” But no thought that those people can ill afford to lose ‘only $12,600’. Shameful!
- This is how you go it #bbcnews
- This is how you DO it, I mean😀
- #bbcnews how about reporting the real figures ?
