- EDF recently reported #nuclear output numbers for France for Q1 - 2025. 102.7 TWh up 6.4% Y-Y. Good results. Nuclear output could surpass 400 TWh in 2025 - for the first time since 2015. #energysky

- I wonder how many under-construction reactors China can handle simultaneously? Build times are currently 5-6 years. That would mean 50-60 reactors under construction. PRIS currently has 28 reactors listed as under-construction in China pris.iaea.org/PRIS/Country...
- China approves construction of 10 new nuclear reactors, the fourth year in a row in which 10 new reactors were initiated. China had 60 GW of nuclear power last year, expects 65 GW by end of this year, and 200 GW by 2040. www.bloomberg.com/news/article... Expected cost per reactor? $2.7 billion. 🔌💡 ⚛️

- CAISO continues to build out its battery storage. I expect this record will surpass 12,000 MW by Sept/Oct. @californiaiso.bsky.social #energysky One other note: similar to rooftop solar, consumers in CA continue to add battery storage to their homes. This is not included in these stats.
- 1) The California grid - CAISO - hit a new battery discharge record last night - its first of 2025. The new battery discharge record was 9,719 MW, a large increase from previous record = 8,354 MW. @californiaiso.bsky.social #energysky Source: www.gridstatus.io/records/cais...

- New record for solar on @californiaiso.bsky.social - CAISO Solar generation goes over 20,000 MW for the first time! New record = 20,818 MW at 10:55 am on April 11th. A big jump from the previous record - 19,624 MW. Note: demand at 10:55 am was 19,217 MW - so solar provided over 100% of load!

- Interesting... It's not just EV buyers who are looking for #Tesla alternatives. Will this sentiment spread to utility-scale storage as well? For instance, maybe @calcca.bsky.social members like @sonomacleanpower.bsky.social or @mcecleanenergy.org will look for #anythingbutTesla storage products.
- Reposted by Joe DeelyI don’t think “renewables” is a terribly meaningful term, but … in this snapshot, solar + wind + hydro > gas.
