- Can’t beat lemon and sugar 👍, but I’ll be offering maple syrup too. My first restaurant pancake, at a crêperie in Le Mans many years ago, was a good 15” in diameter, filled with banana and flambéed in kirsch😋. At home, my French hosts used a batter that incorporated lager — very light and tasty.

- Same here. I just remember thinking “I don’t have time for this”, which was objectively stupid. In any event, a smooth-running NHS whisked me through: diagnosis to op was 6 weeks, radio and chemo over within 6 months. How lucky I was — current throughput is far slower.
