- Just watched the Ox-bow Incident and it made me shudder with its relevance to what we face in America today.
- Reposted by David MaranissWhat an embarrassment. It’s wild that the official position of the US Government is now pro-Nazi.

- Agree. Why I will never write for the Post again while Bezos is owner.
- Jeff Bezos is a decidedly unfit owner for the Washington Post if this is all it takes to get him to fold. Profile in non courage. www.cnbc.com/2025/04/29/w...
- For a decade the conventional wisdom was "Don't make the Nazi analogy." Enough of that. Kash Patel is the Heinrich Himmler of the Trump regime.

- 100 percent agree!
- Re-reading They Marched into Sunlight in preparation for a Vietnam symposium, I came across this: In 1969 Wisconsin Rep. William Steiger was a member of a House group asked by Nixon to investigate whether universities that had been disrupted by radical protests should lose federal funding.
- I'm not a Red Sox fan but am hooked on the Netflix series The Clubhouse, temporary relief from the Trump madness. It's impossible to watch the intimate story of the 2024 team and not love manager Alex Cora for the way he handles his players.
- Press corps...Please boycott the briefings rather than participate in this travesty.

- With Trump everything is transference. He is a one dimensional psycho.
- My family lived it.
- Agree. It's the only story and needs to be told that way.

- Yes they are.
- Mona is a civic hero.
- C'mon Perry! Your columns are way too good for this. Plain spoken? Stephen A? Hardly.
- But no one should.
- True this.
- Yes. More than that.
- @radiofreetom.bsky.social Judge Luttig and Andrew Weissmann have both declared today that we are indeed in a constitutional crisis. (MSNBC, Deadline Whitehouse)
- Agree that they should all be put on trial.
- Reposted by David MaranissTrump again blames Zelenskyy, not Putin, for the war. If he’s not a Russian asset, he’s the most useful useful idiot in history.
- I believe in free and diverse thought, but this is just embarrassing.
- Reposted by David MaranissWhat we saw today was two jumped up thugs and their bootlicking sychophants laughing at the US Constitution, the supreme court, and the idea that anyone can stop them from doing anything they want www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
- Reposted by David MaranissA reminder that while Democracy Docket was warning that Pam Bondi was an election denier who would do Trump's bidding, the Washington Post was giving her a literal thumbs up. - We are there.
- Outageous. No integrity.
- You're right as usual @karaswisher.bsky.social but jeez watch your mixed metaphors!
- True. Doing the right thing is never an impossible position.
- When I interviewed Martha Reeves for the book, she talked about the great music teachers in Detroit's public schools.
- Going back to the great city soon to talk about its history and revitalization.
- The Atlantic should do better than this. No time for being flippant.

- Reposted by David MaranissWhat we're seeing at #handsoff protests nationwide today and what we saw at the ballot box on Tuesday are not unrelated. The public is furious. It will not be silenced. And those who side with Trump and Musk—or refuse to fight back—will be swept out of office.

- No one deserves Pearl.
- Yes. In that case alas it was mostly mistakes by a seemingly good candidate and a brutally racist negative campaign against him from $26 million of outside money while the national Dems underfunded the response.
- From the best party chairman in America.

- Reposted by David MaranissThe only relevant political point is that Republican members of Congress are all supporting these tariffs 100%. They could stop them at any moment. Each day is on them. Everyone with a messaging bullhorn needs to make that clear. They can pull the plug now or pay the price at the polls next year.
- Reposted by David MaranissI don’t understand why this isn’t more of a part of ALL the journalism around Trump’s attacks on higher ed. It’s clearly not about antisemitism at all:
- "Donald Trump and his allies have been using 'anti-Semitism' as a pretext to advance a radical agenda that has nothing to do with Jews at all—and that most American Jews do not support," @yair-rosenberg.bsky.social writes:
- Horrible. I love this program and over the years have helped many high school students researching reports on Roberto Clemente or Jim Thorpe. But of course to MAGA racists the magnificent baseball player/humanitarian and greatest athlete in history/Native American were bogus DEI figures.

- In the Trump administration’s latest assertion of power over the press corps, the White House intends to take over the seating assignments in the press briefing room. Here's my full report for CNN: www.cnn.com/2025/03/30/m...

- If the MAGA Goebbel's machine is going to propagandize on national tv these ads lying outrageously about what Trump has done for medicine at the same time he is killing science and research SOMEONE has to respond.
- My deepest critical feelings about Bezos and Lewis and what they've done to The Washington Post.
- The continued capitulation to Trump's despotism by American institutions is unconscionable.
