- Reposted by DaveawayfromhomeLet’s clear something up: SNAP stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program — the LARGEST federal program to fight hunger in the country! It blows my mind that the party that touts its “Christian values” is the same party that is SET on taking food from the hungry.
- Reposted by DaveawayfromhomeAOC: The math is not adding up. Their claim is that one million undocumented people are on Medicaid. So why are they trying to cut 13.7 million Americans off their healthcare?

- Reposted by DaveawayfromhomeThe Qatari jet bribe saves NO MONEY, because Trump keeps it after he’s president! Democrats, why arent you making it clear to any nation bribing Trump or hosting American prisoners, that there will be hell to pay when Dems are in charge?! Discourage further corruption!

- Reposted by DaveawayfromhomeThe Constitution disagrees. The Emoluments Clause, part of Article I, Section 9, Clause 8, bans office holders from taking ANY gifts from foreign countries. There is no mention of quid pro quo. That is because the Founding Fathers knew that even the *appearance* of corruption promotes corruption.

- Right now, RIGHT NOW, every Democrat who secretly took some gift during the last 25 years needs to come out and admit it
- Reposted by DaveawayfromhomeNot that this needs to be said, but bribery out in the open is still bribery.
- If you’re ever confused about what Republican policy might be, rest assured that whatever the issue is, the wealthy and powerful will be better off because of it, while everyone else can expect, at best, a hearty “fuck you”.

- Reposted by Daveawayfromhomea kind of incredible thing with governor gekko is just the kind of anti-instinct he has for politics. like, you’re governor of california! you could be stacking up dubs right now! but my man is desperately grasping for awful positions that will win him precisely nothing
- Reposted by DaveawayfromhomeCorruption does not, in fact, require an explicit quid pro quo. As a matter of law, certain gifts are illegal whether anything is delivered in return for them or not. Beyond the law, gifts can create an untoward relationship with a recipient that pays off later in diffuse ways.
