- Hard to explain how much I love this grainy, long-exposure image from the Perseverance rover showing Deimos in the pre-dawn sky. Just hours before it was taken, I was also out in the cold, taking pictures of the sky, one planet away. Perseverance saw the very same constellations that I did.
- How amazing is that? Perseverance, from her vantage viewpoint at Witch Hazel Hill, before sunrise, captures Mars' moon Deimos, in stellar company of Regulus and Algieba in constellation Leo. And we get a nightly view of "Woodstock Crater", at center right. www.jpl.nasa.gov/images/pia26... #Mars 🧪🔭

- It will never not blow my mind that we can take pictures of the SURFACE OF ANOTHER PLANET and only a *few hours later* see them on our phones like this one, taken earlier today

- Hot-off-the-press from NASA #astro #planetsci 🔭! Evidence for convective methane clouds in the northern lake region of Saturn’s moon Titan by #JWST and #KeckObservatory!
- NEW: Saturn’s moon Titan has weather similar to Earth’s, but driven by methane evaporation and condensation. Astronomers have found evidence for clouds bubbling up over Titan’s northern hemisphere for the first time, using #NASAWebb and Keck observatory: webbtelescope.pub/3GofvQ1 🔭 🧪

- If it's the 14th of the month, it's time for the #ESAJuice bar! The animation below shows Juice's altitude transition from 500 km to 200 km above Ganymede, an update announced earlier this year. The new phase of 30 days at 200 km will enable a more detailed investigation of Jupiter's moon. 🔭

- Saturn from the approaching Voyager 2 on August 23, 1981. This image utilizes a methane filter for the red channel, which is closer to true red than the orange filter usually used for Voyager red (it was largely red-blind). This set really brought out atmospheric detail.
