- Unexpected benefit of the Illinois Tollway steadfastly refusing to adopt the E-Zpass branding (we're still calling it I-PASS even though it's interoperable) is that the scam texts never get it right.
- Does Illinois charge you a monthly or yearly fee to keep the account active even if you don't use the device at all? I refuse to get one in Ohio for the one or two times/yr I'd use it, and get the account sucked dry by "idle fees"
- A really neat thing about Samsung phones is that they have their own app store and those apps need periodic updates. When that's the case, the store will send a notification saying how many Samsung apps need updates, and this number is always wrong

View full threadIdk, after the last Android update it tried to sneakily replace the default voice assistant with Gemini. I don't need an LLM to tell my phone to set a timer, thank you.
- Valid complaint... I haven't actually used Android for quite a while, my wife has a Pixel (9 Pro). I'm an Apple person these days, although there are occasional things I miss from Android

- ...and now I have a used GPS distribution amplifier on the way to the studio
- It makes sense for such a thing to exist but I had no idea it did. What are they normally used for? I have space in a datacenter (for work) and I'd love to build a Pi master clock using GPS but I suspect GPS won't get through the metal roof and walls...
- New #homelab Python meme incoming source: www.reddit.com/r/homelab/co...
- Except that's no Python, that's SNAKE.BAS at most
- Paul: They started out at 145% got down to 80% now 30%. It is 30% more than we have on currently. It will be a 30% rise in goods coming from China, and somebody will pay that, it will be the consumer.
- It's really wild when Mr Paul is the least-crazy one
- Samsung Wallet has been yelling at me to update and I'm just trying to figure out how to take that shit off the lock screen in the first place. I don't use wallet apps, I just want to unlock my ding-dang phone in peace.
- This garbage is why I will never use a Samsung phone again, even though their *hardware* is decent. Pixel FTW if you must use Android
- 🟩 dye testing today: we are back in this area dye testing again this morning. if you see a green dye in Rocky River near the spot marked in the map, the dye is eco-friendly and safe for the environment.
- So you're saying it WON'T create any Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, then... 😢
- Anyone else struggle with whether or not to pack a console cable on every trip "just in case," even though you'll probably never need it? No? Just me? 😅 'm packing up for the Ohio Higher Education Computing Council (OHECC) meeting at the University of Cincinnati! Want to meet up?
- I always keep an AirConsole with me 😉
- We strongly advise the public not to do this, it’s unsafe. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. posted photos of himself and his grandkids swimming in Rock Creek, a Washington waterway so contaminated with sewage runoff that swimming has been banned citywide for over 50 years.
- The creek contains dangerously high levels of E. coli and other fecal bacteria, especially after rainfall, when it fills with overflow sewage and stormwater.
- Guy is so used to eating shit that swimming in it isn't a large concern for him
- I mean, don’t all libraries have $400 million luxury jets in their collection?
- I'm still not clear why the @nytimes.com went along the idea that a presidential library owning a jet for the personal use of the ex-president was anything that real presidential libraries do. Weird.

- I mean don't we all assume he's just telling them the "secrets" openly at this point?
