I'm still not clear why the
@nytimes.com went along the idea that a presidential library owning a jet for the personal use of the ex-president was anything that real presidential libraries do. Weird.
May 12, 2025 00:41I have long since lost respect for
@nytimes.comWait. Does he even have a library?
Trump is complaining that the current Air Force One is over 40 years old. You know why that is? BECAUSE THE PRESIDENT DOESN’T PUT IT IN HIS PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY WHEN HE LEAVES!!
all arranged while said ex-president is in office!
Doesn't the REAGAN LIBRARY have one? Or..is it a replica? Looked real to me.
You have to repurpose the library after burning all the books 📚
You're not clear that they're owned? Wake up.
Remember "Obamafare" — the $100K ticket price (bribe) to fly on the massive luxury private jet gifted to Obama by penguins from Heard Island and McDonald Islands? After which Obama signed EOs improving fish stocks and flavor by reducing pollution in the Antarctic Ocean?
Because they have been complicit in the corruption since day 1.
Driving
@nytpitchbot.bsky.social out of business.
NONE of the previous presidential libraries have private jets.
NONE OF THEM.
This is a blatant bribe.
Emoluments clause violation.
From Business Insider:
"This definitely violates the foreign emoluments clause unless Congress gives consent," Richard Painter, the former chief White House ethics lawyer in the George W. Bush administration…told Business Insider.
"you can take it out but it has to be back by Wednesday"
Don't all Presidents get a private airliner when they leave office?
It's pretty clear… they lost their way
Because the NYT has lost any sense of being a legitimate news organization. While there may be some talent that is still employed, as an organization, it has basically devolved into access inanity and pulled-punch irrelevancy.
I'd bet that there is very little that people wouldn't do or force others to do during a trillions of dollars heist.
Oh it's been clear enough for a very long time.
They hired a NY Post gossip reporter + professional ball washer,
so why is it any surprise they became the NY Post?
I'm done with the Times. They are apparently a Fox News subsidiary now.
Did they??
It's because the
@nytimes.com has been Trump's PR agent for decades. Not just Haberman. Remember their drama over HRC's e-mails and dismissal of Trump's request for (and assistance from) the Russians?
They kinda suck hard sometimes and have for years?
And presumably the library would be on the hook for operational expenses for as long as the jet is in use. Donald has a jet that had to sit for a couple years before they could get an engine replaced.
So who exactly is going to own the plane. Name on the title, carry the insurance. Trump Library or the US government?
And he has never built the library. Where did that money go? Oh, never mind.
And as if it's suddenly no longer a thing of value as soon as a presidential library "owns" it.
The only library with a plane and no books
The NYT has shown itself, let’s believe them.
I’m over NYTimes. They literally published a pro-RFK op ed the other day as if he’s not an outright eugenist who’s policies have already led to over 1000 measles infections (that we know of) for the first time in 30 years.
Sad to watch a once vital institution Euriah Heap itself into a toilet rag.
There’s a decommissioned AF-1 at the Reagan Library. And you can bet that’s where they got the idea.
Yes, all the Presidential Libraries need to be polled to see how many have jumbo jets. I think it's a safe bet the number is zero.
Me either. What if a country gave the Obama library a jet?
What would they say then?
They asked Maggie, and she said her inside source said it was fine.
Everyone needs to stop buying that fucking newspaper.
Well they sure as hell ain't gonna have any books!
Also, according to some gobbledygook he posted on Truth Social, it's a gift but it's temporary. WTAF?
Five bucks they think it’s going into a presidential library museum (like Reagan). Not that it’s part of the “foundation”
Why does God want a … never mind perfectly normal.
The NYT doesn’t think critically. We know that from the run up to the Iraqi invasion and no one red teaming Judith Miller’s “scoops.” We need the DC McClatchy or its ilk.
