    Fantastic ending to Baroness Kidron's speech in the House of Lords yesterday, which led to the government's defeat on AI & copyright. Speaking the UK's creators: "Their property, their labour, is worthy of your protection - because apart from anything else, it is not ours to give away."

  Government once again governing a fantasy version of the UK rather than the one where most people’s lives haven’t been touched for the better, and in various ways, by immigration for years.

  The thing is, most academics would say the university system isn’t well-run, I’d think. They’d also explain why that has happened (government policy limiting and shaping what is possible) and laugh at the idea that anyone is happy for things to be this way. All anyone wants/needs is stability.
