- Is anyone building a design system based around these newer browser APIs: Popovers, Dialog/Modal, Anchor Positioning, Overlay/Top-Layer, etc to eliminate "portals" or JS positioning logic? Not just some CSS-only snippets, like you've tested and worked out the focus management/accessibility details

View full threadTo be clear `popover` attribute remains. It's the popovertarget and popovertargetaction which is duplicated by commandfor/command so yeah once browser support is better it's probably best to just use command consistently.

- am intrigued to see what people use this capability for. as a demo we built a game — svelte-snek.vercel.app — that you can download as a single HTML file containing embedded images/fonts/audio/etc. kinda like the idea of people using modern web tech to build stuff then sharing it on USB sticks

- It really was that good. Took me by complete surprise in the best possible way
- there’s a weird thing about capitalism that there are these currents, like ai wave, or whatever, and if you hop on them at the right time, you can gain a lot of money. even if you don’t really believe in the thing. market acts as a distortion field because the temptation for money is very powerful
- Helps if you don't believe even. Then you can pivot or discard entirely without being tied to any single idea
- Tried my luck with a last-minute trip up to Cwm Cadlan today to see if the recent Dotterel were still about. It was a success, with one female still remaining, bringing me to 172. It didn’t show off its orange belly, but I still got good views. A bonus male Wheatear too. #birdingwales
