- As a NY'er, here's the problem: NYC elections are won by blue collar votes/who can carry union endorsements + name recognition. That's how Adams won, and right now people are thinking "anybody but Adams," which is why Cuomo is leading. There are some promising alternatives, but ppl don't KNOW them

- Which was my point re: name recognition. Yes, the candidate info is out there, and yes, it is the responsibility of voters to research, but in actuality those who DO turn out will often pick a name they know.
- If the media environment causes what's essentially a worse version of Adams I'll lose my entire mind
- As bad as Cuomo may be, he is NOT a worse version of Adams. he does know how to do the job. Adams is a grifter AND doesn't know how to do the job.
- Listen, I served 5 years in the Marine Corps and I have never in the history of anything heard of this kind of bullshit! Ever. Yes choppers are lost. Jets crash, but just sliding off of aircrafts??

- Those unions are UFT–United Federation of Teachers, SEIU-Service Employees International Union, including 32BJ (Building & Janitors), CSEA-AFSCME (Civil Service Employees Association), IAFF (International Association of Firefighters), and ATU (Amalgamated Transit Union), plus all of the trades. - The other thing, which even I always forget, is that it was really Stringer's election. And then...
- Adams won the endorsement of every major union except the department of education
- (Adams also won bc Scott Stringer was probably gonna win and then had to drop out bc of harassment allegations)

View full thread💯 on not voting Trump. But I also think there is something in general about voters feeling like they "know" the candidate (of course Cuomo and Adams were actual officeholders, etc.) that Dems, etc. will need to think about going forward.
- Yeah, but if it's somebody you even remotely think you know vs ppl you don't know anything about (and voters SHOULD do their research but we know they don't), you're gonna select the name you recognize when you're in that box.
- Zohran has a no shot in hell because no one who praised the uncommitted movement and is part of the DSA is going to win the Black vote in nyc. Leftists hate hearing that but in an election that doesn't encompass a small district DSA can't get it done because of their problems with Black voters.
- They're not going to win any non-white Block in NYC.
