Skywatch Blue / Anti-Alf Aktion
Ceaseless watcher, turn your endless gaze upon this wretched thing.

- Although I love what @skywatch.blue does, (Provides an awesome service), the aspect of labels and lists needs MORE oversight. BlueSky is a young platform (relatively speaking), but it is really coming into its own... growing pains happen.

View full thread“In contrast, if you follow more people than follow you, you will probably earn the Follow-Farming label.” This is absolutely not true. We explain a bit about the harms of follow farming here, but it has nothing to do with following / follower ratios. bsky.app/profile/skyw...
- The exception being accounts that have roughly the same amount of followers as follows and those numbers are both in the thousands or tens of thousands. This is generally a sign of engaging in large scale follow-for-follow or follow back schemes, though not sufficient evidence in its own right.
- This post will be pinned and will link earlier threads explaining various labels and decision-making around labels as needed. To start: why is follow farming a problem?
- Pretty sure I've been added to one of your lists, likely the MAGA one in error. I'm getting blocked by random people I don't interact with and the common thread according to Clearsky app is your MAGA list. Take aq look at my profile and ask if that's "MAGA"
- Confirming that you're not labeled by us, nor on any of our lists.
- This is a gentle reminder that we do not label impersonation accounts. These reports should be directed to @moderation.bsky.app. Thanks!
- We had a bit of an outage this past weekend. We think it has been resolved and that posts are being appropriately labeled again, but are monitoring the situation.

- He got labeled erroneously! Thanks for flagging. You're not labeled!
- This is a good thread that helps users understand why follow farming is such an issue.

- We talk about it a bit in this thread!

- We don’t place the “intolerance” label. That’s @moderation.bsky.app.
- does anyone know what im supposed to do about this

- Yeah, some of the more experimental modes got a little over zealous. We've pulled back that particular part of the automation to try to cut back the false positives.

- I don't! That's new news to me. The only thing I can think of is that it might be some sort of issue with the AppView, but without subbing to the labeler I don't know how it would even be picked up.
- Looks like over zealous automation caught you but you should be all set now.

- You're not and never have been labeled by us!
- This thread will contain a running list of things we don't label or are not in a position to label, for reference. Around 60% of whole-account reports and 90% of post reports are for things we don't label for.

- Idk, this is nothing to do with us
- Oh thanks for flagging this. It's clearly being too greedy about urls.
- Fixed it so it shouldn't grab this url and label it anymore. Let us know if you see it happen again!

- You're not the first to mention this, I think there have been some confusing UI changes over there that have caused some issues!
- You’re not labeled by us and never have been!
- What do we not handle:
- Why is Listifications telling me I’ve been added to a list multiple times:
- FYI: We don't support listifications.app (in a dev sense), so we are not currently able to prioritize the fixing of a bug that only affects users of that tool. Please take up your concerns with the maintainer of that app.

- @skywatch.blue I think there is something really not right with the multitude of slur labels on this account for what appear to me to be (sometimes very short) innocuous replies ??? please advise because I do not understand... bsky.app/profile/boss...

- Thank you for flagging
- Oh that’s definitely a false positive. We’ve removed the label but will need to modify the auto detect to not pickup the false positive.

- You've never been labeled by us.

- Make sure you're not subscribed to the list, and then make sure the label for "Blue Heart Emoji" is set to "Off".

- We've never labeled you and you're not on any of our lists. Double check to see if it's someone elses.

- Sorry about this, not sure how it happened since it wasn’t via our primary source of automation. Looks like a genuine mistake. You should be all set.

- Copy all you want, a huge chunk of our inauthentic list is being generated by automatic reports from the maintainer of another list who is kind enough to share—the greater coverage the easier it is to quarantine the networks!

- Hi folks, we wanted to comment a little bit on the follow-farming label. We automatically label anyone with specific hashtags or keywords in their bio as follow-farmers as these hashtags or keywords have been observed to be widely used in follow-farming campaigns.

- We're independent and volunteer run, so we can't make that sort of change, that has to be done by @bsky.app itself!

- Good instincts. This is definitely the sort of thing we encourage you to report so that we can investigate further!
- Thank you for understanding and thank you for using Skywatch!
- Sex workers: Sex work is real work and an OnlyFans link is not sufficient evidence of account inauthenticity.

- I can confirm that you're not on any of our lists, but you are subscribing to one.
- The label is for users who wish to reduce their exposure and risk to the sorts of operations which proliferate through these systems. This is all—the label is not a value judgement of anyone's individual account.
- One additional note: There is absolutely nothing wrong with accounts that have lots of followers but only follow a small number of accounts. These accounts have followers because they post content people find interesting.

- Definite exception to the rule!

- Always report Alf!
- Accounts you suspect to be scammers, charity scammers, affinity scammers, mutual aid scammers, etc: our "suspected inauthentic behavior" label is for known high-volume spam campaigns and other forms of multiple account abuse.
- We do not have the resources to expand to cover all forms of inauthentic activity such as scams. Please report them to @moderation.bsky.app.
- Non-English content: We are sorry but generally we are not able to label non-English content. We don't have the resources to translate and understand the context of non-English posts and and accounts.
- Old content: Please don't go digging through inactive accounts for old content to report. We have a high volume of reports to go through based on current activity.
- Hiding behind the labeler: Labeler subscribers who routinely pick fights with other users and then report the other user when they hit back will have their reports muted and may be labeled if their behavior is sufficiently troll like.
- Slapfights and interpersonal drama: We are not here to referee these. Reports asking us to take sides in something that is clearly an ongoing dispute will be ignored. See also "Hiding behind the labeler."
- Lists: Do not report being placed on a list. Other users have the right to curate their social media experience. This includes putting users on block lists. If you are placed on a list, you are not being censored or silenced. You can still post and interact with others on the platform.
- If you are placed on a list with a libelous name, please feel free to report to @moderation.bsky.app, but not to as us as we do not have the power to do anything about it.
- Reporting these things to us slows us down immensely and prevents us from being able to quickly handle genuine issues.
- FYI: We don't support listifications.app (in a dev sense), so we are not currently able to prioritize the fixing of a bug that only affects users of that tool. Please take up your concerns with the maintainer of that app.

- Why do we label various symbols, such as 💙,🔻, and ☭?
- What are "Low Quality Replies?"
