Here’s the thing: I love the Anglican tradition. I love the beauty of traditional music and liturgy. But I also want to feel like I’m worshipping the living God, not observing a museum piece. ⚓️
What matters is what God's word says God has chosen.
1 Corinthians 1:27-31
Religions which are based on pleasing their members are not glorifying God but glorifying human egos and cravings.
God's word empowers humans to approach Him as He chose.
The silence of God is the absence of permission.
What are you trying to say here? That there's one right way to do a worship service? Which way is that?
The New Testament mentions:
Prayer
Singing
Preaching
The Lord's Table
Sure, I can think of many churches that have those elements. TEC, Lutherans, Roman Catholics, Orthodox, etc. They all do it differently & each is going to be a good fit for some people and not others. But each would fit your model of appropriate worship.
They go beyond those things. They add things which the Bible does not authorize.
The silence of God's word is the absence of permission.
Ah, so none of us are real Christians. What church is actually doing what God wants?
God's church is not an organization although the congregations in which Christians meet do have shepherds and deacons.
Jesus adds those to His church whom He saves.
No human can add anyone to His church nor can any human remove anyone from His church.
His church are those who hearken to His voice
But you just said that TEC, Lutherans, RCC, EO, etc don't count. We are not real Christians because we worship wrong. Are you a real Christian? Has God added you to his church? How do we know who God has added? How do we know who his real deacons are? How can I know if I am worshipping at a real 1?
I am not the one who determines who are real Christians only Jesus does that.
I hope that I am faithful to Him but I am not justified by my own estimation.
God's people do as God teaches without adding, subtracting, or substituting. But internal transformation and trust are also necessary.
Mar 14, 2025 17:40I suppose then I am not sure what the point of your comment is. You come to tell us we are not real Christians. You can't tell me how to find real Christians to worship with. God requires worship. This isn't a gospel, it's not good news. What did telling me this accomplish? How can I act on it?
Np.
You are wrong about my motives.
It is my hope that I can persuade people to give up those religious practices and teachings which have been invented after the Bible was written and ask:
"Where does the Bible say we may?"
And abide within what was taught in the first century.
