I'm not my ancestors. Some of my ancestors were evil. I won't take credit for what they did right and reject any blame for their evil. You're not your ancestors. Some of them may have been godly. Some of them may have been victims. You're not them.
- Pick the greatest atrocity which a human has ever done. The person who committed that atrocity was created in God's image. The fact that people who engage in certain activities have been created in God's image does not justify what they do. God commands us all to repent of what He has condemned.
- @dianelangberg.bsky.social No organization is like God. Only individuals can be godly. One of the greatest theological fallacies is the idea that congregations (which are organizations) are components of the universal ekklesia. Jesus added humans to the Lamb's book of life. They are the church.
