- This is a really beautiful picture of the late Jonathan Sterne. We should remember him like this. His voice will be missed in Media Studies, Sound Studies, Musicology and STS. #RIP
- Jonathan Sterne has passed away. I can hardly believe this. His generosity and intellectual brilliance will be missed! mastodon.social/@aram@aoir.s...

- Who is [re]writing Manuel Castells' "The Power of Identity" for the messy current situation that we're in? And yes, his books on the network society really deserve a [re]reading. This second one most specifically. #booksky #sociology #networksociety #STS
- It's a mad world out there. Yet, I am still looking forward to be part of #4s2025 in Seattle this September! Science and Technology Studies are needed more than ever now, and so is the @4sweb.bsky.social community.

- Did I mention that the fabulous Memory, Mind & Media journal is on Bluesky? You might want to check out @mmmjournal.bsky.social if you're interested in all things mediating memory.
- Just saw Thelma & Louise for the first time since its German theatrical screening in 1991 in Weimar's now lost "Theater des Friedens". While it is a feminist classic now, it has not aged as well as Ridley Scott's one and only Blade Runner. But Susan Sarandon is sooo brilliant in this one!
- Wow!

- STS now really goes (classical) media theory! Doing a whole conference on signal and noise is quite remarkable … 👉 aussts.org/aussts-2025-cfp/ I‘d love to go there myself but Melbourne isn‘t exactly around the corner.
- I guess this is going to be great television, too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iP_...

- This seems to the very first working capture of amazon.com at the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine: web.archive.org/web/19990828... This is from August 28, 1998. Which means that we don't have a documentation for the first four years at hand. Is anyone aware of an earlier version of this site?
