- Our power got knocked out last night during a storm. No big deal, we have a generator. But it wasn't working. No problem, the outage won't last long (we're now on hour 14). Oh, and because there's no power, the sump pump is off and the basement flooded.

- I was once invited to cocktails at a ‘get rich on the internet’ leader’s fancy condo. Every man was a white newish millionaire in slightly disheveled casualwear. Their partners were near IDENTICAL stick thin women in skirts, spike heels and full makeup who rarely spoke. It was a meal ticket.

- Dammit. It’s not a head cold. Woke in the night. I have a low grade fever with this sore throat and cough. I have a Zoom job interview in…3.5 hours. I think I’ll be able to do it but after that, it’s bed rest and hot showers til I’m no longer ill.
