- this is a poorly articulated thought so let me just clarify I don’t think all media is above critique but I do think there are a lot of examples of tropes that are dated but harmless (ie not racist/ hateful/ homophobic) that people are quick to condemn and it reads as posturing

- This is a very fair critique and I think speaks to the nuance of the criticism, “it didn’t age well” implies it was at one point above criticism but times have changed but a lot of the movies I loved and still do have ALWAYS had their flaws
