imagine if someone told you in 2003 that Dave Matthews would have better politics than Radiohead
Dave Matthews, who protested Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Congress last summer, held up signs that said “STOP KILLING CHILDREN” AND “STOP THE GENOCIDE” at Lovin’ Life Festival in Charlotte, NC on Sunday

Whatever you otherwise think of DMB, generally Dave has had pretty good politics. What did Radiohead do? I'm honestly curious...
If someone had said that to me I would have told them they were under the table and dreaming 🥁
No surprises
Just because your music is wack as fuck doesn’t necessarily mean you’re also a shitty person.
Bucking the Gen-X trend of being politically stupid
i'm not hating on dave matthews because i was never aware of him having bad political takes
but damn it's disappointing for someone to go from singing about the IMF critically to not opposing genocide
that said, i'm at the point where i just assume every aging artist has truly abysmal politics, and then i can be pleasantly surprised every once in a while by the exceptions
I wouldn’t be able to recognize either one of them. All I know is every Radiohead fan I’ve ever met has absolutely terrible taste in music while Dave Mathews is the butt if a lot of jokes but he clearly has decades of fans out there and seems to be a pretty okay guy judging by this.
That wouldn't surprise me. Don't Drink the Water was about the persecution of Native Americans, whereas I can't name any political song Radio Radiohead has made.
I would have been unsurprised, to be honest.
DMB stayed at a small inn that my boss was a part owner of circa 2004. All of the employees at the inn said that Dave and the band members were the nicest folks and good tippers. Good people all around, even if I don't dig their music (it's fine, just not something I seek out).
Why would that surprise me? The only good South African? You jest.
I probably could have been that person.
Have the FooFighters endorsed RFK jr yet?
It's a bad world we live in
DMB through the years has had so many talented musicians and objectively good music even if it isn't everyone's style.
I still can't get through a song because I can hear his South African accent and am immediately reminded of Elon fucking Musk
Honestly all of DMB was pretty cool. It's more that we've all heard so many covers by the most obnoxious people you've ever met
Ladybird vindicated!!!
