- Congratulations @marthasjones.bsky.social for an AMAZING review of the Trouble of Color. It's imperative that we support Black history by Black scholars in this moment, and the Trouble of Color reminds us that the impulse to deny, misname, and erase our history isn't new. Pick it up today!

- The EPA IRIS database specifies the cancer + noncancer risk of > 500 chemicals. It's the rosetta stone to calculating the relationship between exposure and risk. It powered our tox map and formaldehyde map. Killing it would destroy the ability to regulate or even show how harmful toxic chems are.

- NEW: While all eyes are on Trump and DOGE, a bill recently introduced in both the House and Senate would cripple the EPA's ability to regulate. It's a very serious threat and experts told me it could pass www.propublica.org/article/legi...

- I write about this fight in Black Folk. For decades, Black people were legally prevented from equal access to federal jobs. They had to fight for equal access. But their fight made things better for all workers. Access to federal jobs has always been civil rights work. wwnorton.com/books/978163...
- The first places in America where Black people had fair opportunities to work for the same pay and benefits as white Americans was the federal government. Still today, in places with high Black populations, many government employees are Black.
