  • Like many of you I'm determined to be less confrontational here on Bluesky than I was on Twitter, but I struggle to sit on my hands when people equate naughty rule-breaking riders (who almost but didn't hit them) to the carnage and negligence caused by drivers. It's just both-sides bullshit.

  • I think the number 1 rule of riding a road bike fast is to give pedestrians the right of way. But if you live in a huge city and there are only a few places cyclists can ride and there are points of friction between riders and park users, this primarily is a policy and infrastructure failure.

  • If in fact the armed people abducting people with no criminal records are not actual ICE employees, explain to me how these aren't felonies that need to be pursued immediately?

  • IMO the right amount of times to reply crashes in pro bike races is zero times.

  • Riding on an upright city bike in street clothes is totally awesome. There is zero reason to take shots at sportier bikes or people who ride them to celebrate transit riding. Often it's the same people doing both. Often it's different people with common needs. Everyone who rides are allies.

  • And yet there is always discourse that frames sporty bikes as uncomfortable or less practical than city bikes. Discourse that frames sporty riders as adversaries to transit riders. Discourse that frames spandex as alien. But everyone who rides is getting around on a bike and wants to get home alive.
