guys this is just insane, it’s a space adventure movie, it doesn’t have hard-to-detect political motifs. this is embarrassing
Most people can admit "I didn't understand the political messaging of Star Wars until I grew up" while others will strive to pretend that political messaging didn't exist so they can pretend they didn't miss anything.
A few of the responses make me think that some people are young and don't realize that a film in the 1970's wouldn't try to convince anyone that space Nazis are bad, but rather would rely on people's knowledge of that to help point to who the bad guys are. That's a little depressing.
The fact that you called them space Nazis despite them not being referred to as Nazis kinda shows that it was political
You are using "has government" to mean "is political" and those are just two different things
Do you think governments can be apolitical?
No but "movie features government" does not mean that movie is a "political movie". Legally Blonde 2 is not a "political movie"
