I have two sons, and I don't think I've ever seen messaging going "Don't be a boy" or "YOU'RE BAD."
Sure looks like that's in "I heard someone say that they heard..." territory, rather than actual direct experience.
Also worth noting, the main message from manosphere influencers is "YOU'RE BAD."
It's a brutal time for young men, and to be raising one. The primary message they now is get is "YOU'RE BAD" without any meaningful attempt to offer healthy pathways beyond "Don't be a boy."
Absolutely perfect time for right wing monsters to sweep in with shitty answers.
Everyone can see this, right? That the main, oft-repeated message from manosphere influencers to their audience is "you suck, you weak loser"?
Like a straight guy equivalent of beauty marketing targeting women that goes "you're fat and ugly, now buy this product to make yourself feel a bit better."
May 4, 2025 17:54And the precise equivalent of the negging thing these same influencers recommend to their audience as a good way to attract women. You'd think that more of their audience would notice, and react accordingly.
I think it's even worse than your example. The manosphere influencers are literally feeding their own manly men egos by calling their audience those things -while- still being able to market their so-called solutions.
They're essentially getting a two-fer.
