- Bomb damage from The Second World War on the west side of the Victoria and Albert Museum. The brickwork and Portland limestone cratered from shrapnel. The museum still stands and bares it's unrepaired scars.

- A round barrow, just on the flank of Perching Hill. Not on the highest part dominating the landscape, but rather there for anyone taking the old trackway connecting the Weald to the sea. We stick activate its primary function everytime we pay it attention. #TombTuesday🏺

- I am fairly certain that the overseas healthcare professionals staffing so much of our NHS and care organisations are not the problem. The Labour Party diminishes itself today.
- For #MosaicMonday, the fine Victorian entrance mosaic of the Wenlock Arms, Hoxton, London. Known well to many a London archaeologist. 🏺🍻
- If you like gardening then stop using whatever it is you are using and invest in a Niwaki Hori Hori knife. Its really a gardening trowe, it's so useful for weeding and planting I can't imagine not having one again. 🌻🌺🌷🪻🌸🌽🍅🥕🫑 www.sotogardens.com/products/niw...
- I'm starting a band called Celtic Field System. Because no one has yet. Who's in?
- Sun rising on Mile Oak Valley. The Hum is strong
- Out running through very arid chalk Downland. Seeing soil and crop marks everywhere due to the dry conditions. I wonder how much areas this is putting on wildlife and agriculture right now.
- Driveway moment, can't leave the car while it's playing.
- A little fluffy cloud adrift out west. It looks very precarious but seems to know where they are going.
- Reposted by Dr Matt PopeThe two pictures are 11 years apart. On 10 May 1933 the Nazi party staged ideological spectacle of burning of 'un-German’ books. 2nd image: Auschwitz II-Birkenau, burning pits outside gas chamber V, 1944. #Auschwitz warns us of where ideologies of hatred can lead to.

- Bouanne Libéthâtion! to all Jersey and Guernsey friends and colleagues. 80 years ago today, and one day later than the declaration of victory in Europe, the German forces surrendered control of the islands.
- A beautiful, though asymmetric, handaxe. It was made half a million years ago by a person from an early Neanderthal population at Boxgrove, England. While sediment stained, it is still extremely sharp and would have made a very effective butchery knife. #FlintFriday 🦣🏺

- A curse on anyone who voted the UK out of the Union and anyone who keeps us out. You betrayed the peace the western allies fought and died for.
- Big excitement at @archsoutheast.bsky.social as we took delivery of a bunch of shiny new @quaternaryra.bsky.social field and technical guides. Get yours here: www.qra.org.uk/product-cate...
- The fact this wasnt the UK Gov response to tarrifs chaos shows how scared it is of Reform. All other party's ,(including the Tories) should be building a social democratic consensus to isolate the cultists.
- Reposted by Dr Matt PopeI had a productive call with Ursula von der Leyen this morning. We’re ready to build on our free trade relationship, bolster economic security, and work side-by-side on shared defence and security challenges. When Canada and the European Union build together, our futures are stronger.

- For #FlintFriday 300,000 year old handaxes from Etricourt-Manancourt, France. Expertly recovered from 7m of sediment by @inrap.fr Palaeolithic specialists. The same broad age as early Levallois & giant handaxes in Britain, the site show wider Neanderthal cultural complexity at this time. 🏺🦣
